[Review] Oakenfold, Sandra Collins, Kenneth Thomas @ Pacha

we hit up Pacha last night, mostly to catch Kenneth Thomas for the first time. I had actually never seen Paul Oakenfold live before, and hearing him was kind of an afterthought for us last night.
We got to Pacha at about 12:15 or so, there was surprsingly no line. Sandra was on the decks, and based on the 45 minutes I caught of her set, she was on fire. I have seen a decent amount of critiques on her as a dj...she plays boring music, mixing isn't good, etc... She killed it last night, and her mixing was fine. She dropped a lot of twisted, big bass tech house tracks, and a couple of proggier tracks towards the end of her set. The crowd was very into her.
Oakenfold walked into Pacha literally 2 minutes before he was supposed to go on, sporting his sweet long hair-do. he played a lot of classic trance tracks (I didn't know until later in the night that this is a 'best of' tour).
he played two hours...I recognized most of the tracks he played, but my trance ID skills are not what they used to be haha. He definitely played...

Kenneth came on at 3 and totally murdered Pacha. I really wish we had it in us to close it out last night but were just way to beat from a long day with the relatives. I was expecting him to take it down a notch after Paul got off, but he actually picked it up a bit. Phenomenal set. I can't wait to hear what he can do as a headline again in NYC as a headiner. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long on that one. :) |

i remember kenneth thomas from few yrs back, hes from michigan or something right ?
good to hear sandra playing a good set, shes either on or off.. very cool chic on a personal level.

| wish i would have went. not the biggest fan of pauls, but kenneth and sandra i would have loved to see. and hearing children on the soundsystem would have been cool |

KT is awesome. Heard him at a very hawt outdoor club in Key Biscayne.
That night was awesome and out of all the times I was there.. KT kept it the most packed early in the A.M.!!! Hope he makes it back. I had to work today so I def couldn't go. |

I've been wanting to see Sandra Collins for years. She's def nasty. Kenneth Thomas has some good productions, never heard him spin. He partners with Noel Sanger as Air Hustlers... i got a few of there vinyls

Guidotastic. :crazy: I dunno, but one can assume that since almost every diff type of party, whether it be trance, house or whatever has been a 18-21 yr old infestation of Italians finest sausage meat. :wtf: |

actually not at all. There were a lot of crackhead(y) asians, but I didn't many guidos at all. |
