Here's the point:

My little brother and I are planning to buy turntables.
So, I was (sorry, we were) wondering which turntables we should buy.

We don't have a lot of money to spend, so SL1200's are out of the game.

But, what other turntables can you recommend? Gemini, Stanton, etc...?

Thanks in advance.

I have a pair of Stanton str8-90's. I'm really happy with them, and they cost around 300 $ (each)

but I heard good things about Gemini PT-2100/PT-2400's which u can find cheaper than my TT's.

Denon DP DJ-101s or 105s.

I have Stanton STR8-80's and they're pretty decent decks. All the tables in their price range are pretty similar in terms of performance, just checkout your local store and see which ones you like the best. STR8-80's usually come with Stanton 520 Carts preloaded on the headshell, which is nice.

Excellent choice

If possible goto a pro-audio music shop and try it out. Some turntables have the same torque as the technics but they have really bad sustained torque.

(Torque is the spinning force of the turntable platter. Some turntable platters tend to stop when you're drag the plate back and forth to find the beat. I.e. Gemsound)
