Right so there is a dj competition on in my city at the min. I am interested to know what happens in a dj comp...is it just the best set as in best mixed/read the crowds best song selection and stuff or is it a huge mash up of quick mixing and loops and stuff...Just wandering!

| Well I doubt you will "read the crowd". Isn't it usually done by a judge or judges? |

visit the club a week in advance of your set and note what gets played, and what gets the people on the dancefloor. now play exactly the same a week later. this should give you a chance of wining. then when you get a residency you can play whatever you want. |

Congrats, you've just discovered the quickest way to lose a residency. |

surely that's only if the music you want to play is e? |

| I was just saying, if you get the gig based on the owner thinking you play a certain style, and then switch to playing "whatever you want," then you will probably piss off a lot of people, since they expected you to play what you played during the competition. |
