Dear all,
Im looking to buy a studio headphones maybe next month.Actually I wanted to buy a Studio monitor to mix on but I just found that For example the Studiophile BX5 cost about 800 - 900 USD where I live lol
So till i find valuable Studio monitors I want t buy headphones instead so my Questions is:
What is the best of the following models to mix on , I know nothing is like monitors but i want something near :
1- AKG 240
2- AkG 271
3- Beyerdynamic 990 Pro
I Actually found a good deal on the 990 pro for abut 170 USD isnt that strange and they are new " not ebay" Amazon i think..
So what do you think

I would have said the same: K 240 sound the most accurate, K 271 for more extreme insulation. I don't like the beyerdynamics, they really are for booth monitoring and that's it... I paid a $130 for my 271s a year ago, my points of view haven't changed, they're well made, and can help mixing.

Bear in mind nothing properly replaces monitors. Even though I just spent my sunday mastering a track in my headphones lol :nervous: Ah, well, I'll hear the result in proper monitors today...

AKG k240s, no question.
The AKG k271s aren't suitable for monitoring IMO. They're closed (as oposed to the k240s which are open), the bass is resonant and less accurate.

Beyerdynamic DT-770's are great headphones. Sometimes its even more fun working with them exclusively.

Gotta give it up for the AKG 240s over here. Sound good, low priced and very comfortable!

P.S dont buy cheap headphones man....unless you only want to be a bedroom producer and just look cool to ure mates... cut back alittle on te paty for awile and pay between 150-180 and you hear exactly whats going on. alot of people make the mistake of using cheapo gear but you get a cheap sound its that simply.... you want to be proff.??????? start using proffessional gear that my advice....

You can certainly do that, but you probably shouldn't be doing mixdowns on headphones. Use your headphones only when arranging and use your monitors when mixing down.

That's great and all, except that Sennheiser HD-650 are hi-fi headphones. They're meant to sound good, not flat and neutral like the AKG k240s.
