The flyer on the link posted is from September - this is Chicago party being hosted by Listed and VOLATLtm, for which several Chicago (and other Midwest talent) DJ's like Khoury and Hac will presumably be playing.

:)

Ambivalent is terrible, but other than that looks like an awesome lineup of midwest talent. Should be a great party :)

About our headliners:

AMBIVALENT
Kevin McHugh (aka AMBIVALENT) is a native of Washington, DC and resident of New York City. His musical development began in DC where he was influenced by the broad nature of that city’s music scene. Early exposure to acid-house and industrial side-by-side with DCs homegrown go-go and hardcore punk scenes deeply influenced his music.

After a brief period in London, Kevin moved to New York in 1996. He began producing a music series inside the Brooklyn Bridge Anchorage for Creative Time. Over the next 5 years he produced events with artists such as Thomas Brinkmann, Dimbiman, Carl Craig, Ryoji Ikeda, Pole, and many more. It was during this time that he began making a connection with M-nus. He went on to produce events in New York featuring friends such as Magda, Troy Pierce and his roommate Jesse (Heartthrob) as well as Matthew Dear, Akufen and Sammy Dee.

He moved to Berlin in 2004 to help Richie Hawtin produce the Plastikman live concert. He later returned to New York and re-dedicated himself to producing music inspired by his friends. He answered an ad for an apartment, and moved in with a DJ named Camea. She later created Clink Recordings. He DJs regularly in New York, and on his internet radio show, The Nerd Tank, with Camea. He has releases and remixes (past and forthcoming) on Minus, Clink, Klickhaus, Esperanza, and Leftroom.

MAETRIK
Eric Estornel, under the names MAETRIK, MARIEL ITO, and simply ESTORNEL - has been contributing to his musical world around him since 93. First a dj, and later developing his skills as a producer, Eric has always searched for the future of electronic dance. Not being confined by rules of styles or genres is most important to Eric, as he makes his way through a political and fickle industry.

Eric as Maetrik has released music on such respected labels as Treibstoff, SubStatic, Morris Audio, Onitor, Immigrant, Iron Box Music, and many others. 2001 first saw him appear with releases on Immigrant and Treibstoff. Then in 2002 he took it further by helping label owner Bernhard Pucher (Brian Aneurysm) launch the label Iron Box Music, which has done extraordinarely well as of late. Eric also apeared on Chalant and Intrinsic Design in 2002, but really made his mark with the release of his debut album on Treibstoff titled "Quality Exertion".

Then in 2003 more stunning releases and remixes followed on Treibstoff, IronBox, and Morris Audio City Sport. Then in 2004, after a couple of high quality releases on Sub Static, Iron Box, and Onitor, Eric layed low to concentrate on his 2nd album under the moniker Maetrik for Treibstoff.

Titled "Casi Profundo", Eric's 2nd full length album proved to be an amazing release in 2005 with charts and mixxes everywhere supporting the ever growing Maetrik sound. Up untill this point people had only Seen Eric record as Maetrik, Estornel, and Jell Cell (w/ b aneurysm), but 2005 also marked the beginning of a new chapter in Eric's production - MARIEL ITO. With a punishingly precise release as Mariel Ito on the very collectable label Modern Love, Eric proved once again his love for foward thinking techno and now electro

Electro has always been Eric's true passion, and to demostrate his skills as a new Electro artist, Eric as Mariel Ito released a brutal yet thoughtful debut LP on the world reknown SCSI AV label in October of 2005. Titled "My Cyborg Depths", it's a stunning journey into Eric's mind as an electro operator and discoverer of the deepest corners of the electro sound.

With many other releases and remixes due out later this year and in 2006 on various electro and techno labels, Eric is keeping busy honing his Mariel Ito and Maetrik monikers. Be looking out for releases on Treibstoff, Affected Music, IronBOX, Morris Audio, Tic Tac Toe, Scsi AV and Modern Love in the weeks and months to come...

AND JUST RECENTLY, Maetrik has completed a remix for local Chicago record label, Siteholder!
Artist: Bumpin' Ugly
Title: Work Me (Maetrik Rmx) is out now!!!
