no wai! dude we had a whole section dedicated to them. Section K I believe (Century is broken down into 12 sections of classrooms each designated by a letter and color co-ordinated). at least they all hung out there after their morning foot-washing rituals in the adjacent bathrooms. |

Haha, Holmes is still practically NE. I'm talking about Riverside and Longfellow. My mom teaches at Longfellow, and I think it's something like 50-60% Somali. Made high school a legit cultural experience.

Unfortunately, just adding the name on the top of the cartoon makes the whole thing offensive, which I think is pretty ridiculous. If the name wasn't there, suddenly even more conservative Muslims will laugh at this. That's kinda sad, but it's a reality of the world we live in. Also, it's a small limitiation of the freedom of expression that I don't think will hurt anybody (i.e. not to print offensive material in the mainstream public media).
However, I still think it's okay for people to post their most disgusting comments and on TA bc of the extreme form of freedom here. The people who post that though better be ready to defend their actions when questioned. ;) |
