Assasins Creed for PS3

So I just got this. But I havent even really opened it yet for PS3. How is it?
I picked up a 60 GIG PS3 on CL for like 250, this is only the 2nd game I got. |

| i have it for xbox360, thought it was awesome. i heard ps3 though has frame rate issues, on a lot of games, my brohter just sold his ps3 too. |

You are seeing frame rate issues on some PS3 versions of games mainly because development on a lot of them were started on the X360 before the company got PS3 dev kits and the developer isn't able to get itnicely optimized before they need to get it out the door.
But simply fact is that when you get down to it, PS3 is more powerful and the companies are finally loaded up on dev its. This means that games are gonna be modeled for PS3 first and then scaled down for the other systems. And games that are designed for PS3 first are starting to kick the crap out of what you see on the X360.
X360 has it's arcade and live service which is amazing. PS3 is starting up it's PlayStation Home service with it's full 3D world you can roam in....I haven't had a chance to use it, but it's kinda cool. But the question remains is if people will really get into it considering it's more complex.
Anyhow, from what I seeing, we are seeing a far more dramatic improvement as far as what can be done on the PS3 in its short lifespan compared to what we saw on the X360. But that doesn't mean squat, overall People who haven't really been around and paid attention to history will try to determine what's the best console to get or who will win...truth be told we won't know for another 2-3 years... in the past has a console done well in its first couple of years and many people who were quick to buy based on what they saw then ended up being burned because that other console started kicking ass 2-3 years after its released and ultimately won the war.
The PS3 price gap to the X360 is closing. As more people get HDTVs, the PS3 is gonna be a much more lucritive deal (if you go back and read surveys regarding the PS3, you'd be shocked how many people bought it over the Xbox because it played DVD movies right out of the bhox). The PS3 playing Blu-Ray is gonna be HUGE for it within a few years as HDTV purchases explode. The X360 + HD-DVD addon is not only somewhat stupid because, well, it's an add-on...but it also makes the overall cost a bit more than the PS3.
ANyhow, my two cents. Personal opinion. Has NOTHING to do with where I work as I don't do editorial work anymore and haven't done any in probably 3-4 years! ANd hell, systems are so expensive that I've had had to spend my money on other priorities so I don't personally own any current gen stuff! |

| most reviews and comparisons say the 360 elite is the better choice. Not the 360 but the black 360 elite. |

Ummm, there's no real huge difference with the Elite compared to the other X360 systems is its 120gb HD. It also has HDMI, but it's being phased into other models now as well.
HDMI will provide the best video quality as it's a full bandwidth video between the system and TV.
Anyhow, so as long as the X360 you buy has HDMI, there's no other real advantage other than HD size.
PS3 has HDMI standard in all models. |

I played a bit of it last night and it seems pretty cool. Something to keep me busy for a while in between mixing and doin in the studio.
What was weird was right after I read hadi ******s info on issues with the PS3, mine decided to CRASH!??
The game locked up so I shut it off and went to bed.
Before hand I researched and decided maybe Ill give the current PS3 I got to my girls brother for xmas, and get one of these instead.
I may even opt to put one in my SUV for some backseat fun for my guests.
There is also a glow base, so I may get one too to go with it.
There are 2 reasons why I bought the PS3. 1 is the Blue Ray, the second is to complete Hideo Kojimas final masterpiece, Metal Gear: Guns of the Patriots.
