Drums VST for trance, house

Any suggestions for a very good sounding VST (for Cubase SE) for producing drums from scratch for trance and progressive house? Most VST drums I've found so far attempt to model acoustic drums, which is not what I'm after.

Suggestions on all VSTs, not only for drums, would be most welcome also. It must be possible to produce professional quality sound with VSTs, but so far the VSTs and presets I've found don't sound very impressive. An ideal scenario would be to find a single top-notch VST for producing all sounds required for producing professional quality trance with Cubase SE. Thanks.

You aren't going to have much luck finding any vst that sounds professional out of the box.
Its all a matter of how you use it.

A quick google search... http://www.maketunes.com/articles/f...machine-grizzly

I still think the Reason ReDrum is perfectly adequate, used it in all my tunes, including my released ones.

If I wanna do something special I'll use another sampler tho.

Best Drums Over Kill, NI Konkat format, have not use nothing else since then.
You will need Konkat sampler to use it as a Vsti, otherwize you will have only WAV samples.

Kopi =o.

A bit of an overkill to get Reason if all you need is a drum machine/sampler.

+1!

If anyone cares for name dropping, Sander van Doorn uses this to program his drums.

I've personally been using Battery for my drum programming and it works great. I was given a thorough demo of Stylus RMX at NAMM last year and it's killer.

I use Reason quite a bit simply for percussion. It is much less CPU intensive than Stylus RMX. Don't get me wrong, RMX is great but only when I want a type of sound I can't easily make with ReDrum... which isn't much.

I just slice up loops in the Cubase interface. :)

Linplug RMIV is another option, although I'm more likely to use a straight up sampler (battery, kontakt, etc) with a decent sample kit... In addition to the ones mentioned, the Thomas Penton Essential Drums kit is pretty nice.

RMIV comes with quite a collection of electronic drum samples, and has a fairly nice interface... but if you've already got a sampler, just get a decent kit :)
