The Egyptian-themed bi-level eatery-lounge features twisted house beats, with an array of local spinners (and the occasional out-of-towner) playing dirty house sounds all night long. This week features the Technics talents of Michelangelo, Maron Sharabi and resident Thomas Pategas who will be dropping a funked up style of house.
Michelangelo (yes that his real name) discovered the house scene and purchased DJ equipment. The madness had begun....
Starting off with a trance influence, he progressed into a dark chunky progressive sound toward the turn of the millennium. Of late, he has added a "Stabby Modern Deep Techno Acid" twist to his arsenal. In general, if you ask what style he plays, he couldn't give you a straight answer as he is influenced by many styles & his frequent travels to Ibiza, Italy, & Argentina. Michelangelo has played with the likes of DJ Vibe, Victor Calderone, Chus & Ceballos, & of course Danny Tenaglia yet he is still claiming it is all "just a hobby"! Download a set or three & decide for yourself!

Thomas Pategas has made a name for himself in the NYC nightlife scene in a relatively short amount of time. Over the years, he's gained an extremely loyal following by spinning funky house tracks poured over chunky bass lines - a unique sound that has made him one of the top DJs in NYC nightlife. Often leaning towards the darker side of house music, he's mastered the winning craft of bringing funk and sleaze to the DJ decks, earning recognition and respect from other DJ talents, club-goers, and promoters alike.
Dedication and passion has kept Thomas constantly accelerating in the fervent NYC DJ race. However, on par and no longer nipping at the heels of NYC's resident DJ favorites, he's now aiming to frame his sound globally. Summoning his earlier experiences in the house music scene in Miami, London, Spain, Sweden, and South America, he's taking his talent of mixing funk and grinding bass, back out to his roots. With live gigs in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and Miami, and numerous internet worldwide downloads of his promo mixes, Thomas' sounds are indeed far-reaching.
His latest compilation from September 07 has been well received from his fans from various corners of the globe. The funky, twisted sounds are pure Pategas – guaranteed to keep your feet moving.
