excuse me... i mean the Rays proposed new digs...

will have a tarp covering the field and fans for rain that is retractable and rain or shine the balls can still hit into the water like San Fran's ball-park...

The DUMBEST ing idea I have ever seen. I dont know many Orlando regulars that would be willing to travel all the way over to downtown St. Pete to watch a game... They need this park on the Tampa Bay Side... Between Orlando and Tampa to ever fill that place up. If the Bay area did not support them in St Pete at the Dome, what makes them they people are going to support them all the way over in downtown St. Pete?
Looks like the Ford Amphiteater if you ask me. |

im not big into baseball at all... honestly i care less about the sport of it... but with a nice stadium like that, i'll go just to hang out and drink since its now an outdoor park..
i mean when i go to USF Bulls games (of which football is a sport i am passionate about) its a big party drinking down by the ship and hanging out...
since this will be outside i can see me driving over to get that same outside game day atmosphere now...
although i couldnt agree more that they would draw about 30-40% more fans if it was in Tampa... but St. Pete has the team by the balls in regards to leaving so the team can't move to Tampa even if they wanted to... |

quite the contrary, this has to be one of the BEST ideas I've seen for a ballpark design in years. I've been around the area of Al Lang and it has a lot of potential
the rays will fill up the ballpark no matter the location if they start being competitive (even at the dome, where it's just brutally depressing to watch a baseball game) |

Which they should start being... and soon. Kazmir, Shields, Garza is a SICK 1,2,3. |

Because they werent selling 44,000 tickets a game. Why waste money building a big stadium when those 10,000 extra seats go to waste anyway? |

actually they'll make more money with less seating since many of the seats that'll get eliminated will be the cheap seats
whoever wants to go to the game will have to pay for the pricier seats |
