This topic has been brought up a few times (tried to search for the threads but we all know the search button sucks). I think it comes down to there is just a bigger NYC population that uses the board. Not much on here about DC cause no one from DC really comes onto the boards. Plus if we go down this path why not a Boston forum or a Philly forum? I think maybe if you guys did a DE/DC/VA/NC forum you night have better luck.
Kind of sucks for you guys |

| When I first joined in '03 a lot of DCTA's used to spend a lot of time in NYC and a lot of NYTA's used to spend a lot of time in DC..Before I came here everyone used to tell me that Glow was the place to be especially Bria Toia. What happened to all that ??.. |

1) Active users. You need 20 (minimum) active users to have a forum created for that region.
2) They all need to come from the same country. Regional forums are created for users from a particular country/region, not because they all speak the same language. We've often had requests for a forum based on x amount of people all speaking the same language, but living in 10 different countries. This is not what regional forums are about. They are about discussing local events, meet ups, whats going on generally in ur region/country. This doesnt work if you all come from different countries.
3) Moderators. Moderators have the fun task of keeping the forum functioning, with sticky threads (like this one), behaviour moderating and all that. If you have a new forum, you will more than likely make a moderator. Please wait until your forum is flurishing with active threads and active posters before trying to decide on a moderator. In the past some members have tried to elect a mod before the forum is even made. To elect a mod, once the forum is up and running please make a thread, and all people who wish to be a mod nominates themselves. Once all the nominations have been registered, make a poll listing them all and leave it upto your forum gathering to decide a new mod. If none of the current mods can prove he/she would be an unwise candidate for the forum, they shall be granted modship. |

^^ the last time I encountered madd DC heads was during our Labour of Love trip in Fall 2004 where it was a NYC/DC-VA roadtrip/meetup of sorts...and then before that I recall many came up for Sasha and Digweed in March one year...my friend Erica (who isn't part of TA) still comes up with friends once in awhile with heads (she was up here for Above and Beyond 6/2006). all my friends from DC/VA i met thru the TA boards back in '03 (back in the Insomnia days) but almost none of them post on here anymore...
also a group of them decided to start up their own website dedicated solely to the DC music scene and other issues of interest, and slowly started frequenting that more than TA (it does make sense tho)
im sure ppl still love trance down there, but i think more of them are into house/techno/minimal now...certain locals down there were pretty well organized at least from the last time i was down there |

That's DC's problem, there aren't 20 people from DC that post on the boards actively. I only know of a few people from DC that post. If DC want there own forum then they should become more active on the boards. |

| There are tons of DC tranceaddicts, myself included. You simply don't see them because we don't have a page. I really wish we had one. |

But this is your page. I feel like that is the problem, that since DC doesn't have there own page they wont post. You have to take action and post and make the DCTA's presence felt.
Look at the west coast they only have one forum and it works, that covers, LA, San Diego, San Fran and everything in between. |

What can happen is New York ventures off on its own leaving a NE section with DC etc etc I dunno what else is up here..
Trust me it took us alooooooooooooooooong time and a good 6 months full of drama for Florida to become its own region seperate from "SouthEast Section"
There is no way DC will be on it's own unless it's paired up as part of the NE region. |

| what difference does it make, just post the DC here too. i doubt DC people aren't on this board because NYC and Boston post here also. |

exactly!!! DCTA's have no one to blame but themselves if there is not enough DC activity on this board. |
