Exactly what type of electronic music does unkle generally play?

What type does cosmic gate generally play?

Can anyone give me a breakdown on the technique they use?
Also, what kinds of sounds and loops do they use?

Does anyone have any loop or sound packets they'd like to suggest a noob in the game aquire?

There is no "exactly" with UNKLE. Trip-hop, downtempo, breaks, progressive house, rock. It really depends on what album and what tracks we're talkin about.

If you mean what they play live it depends too. If it's James Lavelle playing a dj set it's probably tech house and progressive house, i'm not sure if he djs as "UNKLE" thoough. If it's an UNKLE concert then they're performing music from their latest album, which is basically a rock record.

Thank you for replyin'. The reason I'm asking is I want to start studying a technique...... Like how to play a very certain type of dance music. Like what kinds of sounds, beats, tempos, and bpm's to use in order to make the sounds I want. I want to make music that is like ambient electronic pop. What type of music do Y'all think the albulm: never neverland by unkle was mostly composed of? I like the stuff they did with ian brown most, I think.

Just kind of brainstorming and collecting sounds for Acid Pro.

First of all, if you have questions and want help with production issues, go to the Production Studio section.

"Ambient electronic pop" sounds kinda oxymoronic, i don't know what your idea is really.

Never Never Land is an album that you can't really pigeonhole. And why is it so important to stick a label on it anyway?

Another fixed post.

Really, that about UNKLE is true. There is plenty of different genres made by UNKLE/Lavelle. Especially if you count the many, many remixes of UNKLE tracks.

Cosmic Gate plays and makes trance right now. And they used to play and make slightly less hard trance.

Yeah his GUs are great, typical UNKLE style genre-blending bonanza. But i don't really base my opinions on a dj off of compilations/studio mixes and such.

everyone has a righ tto their opinion sadly...

personally i like cosmic gates transition from hard trance to more uplifting trance. as an artist, u naturally change ur style and experiment with new sounds, nothing wrong with that. cosmic gate past and present, i enjoy!

Lavelle is so far up his own arse it's unbelievable. Saw them at reading festival, great set but as far as I could tell the band were doing all the work while lavelle just danced around like a tit in a pair of aviators.

He didn't say people do not have right to their opinion, he just expressed his. Am i wrong?

I half-agree with you on Cosmic Gate. While i think their older stuff is the silliest crap imaginable (and not in any way "hard"), i think they've put out some quite solid productions with this "new sound" of theirs, from Earth Mover on...
