Further evidence of the cruel nature of Islamic Law

Mohammed the bear faces life sentence

THE cuddly bear that sparked the storm in Sudan was locked away in a Khartoum vault last night — facing a much longer sentence than Gillian.

Authorities anxious to draw a line under the controversy admitted the 2ft brown teddy named Mohammed would never see daylight again.

He is being held at the CID department of the Ministry of Interior in Khartoum. Pleas by The Sun to free Mohammed were refused yesterday. A source said: “It’s a life sentence for the bear. He’s in a police store and will never be handed back.

“The government wants this case file to stay firmly closed.”

Just what kind of cruel bastards would subject an innocent Teddy Bear to that?! It's not like the Teddy Bear named himself Mohammed or sees himself as some kind of God figure. And he's hardly the first person in the world to be called Mohammed either!

This is just further proof that Islamic Law is backwards and completely unjust...

JUST LOOK AT THE DAMN BEAR!!!!!!!!!

I’M a celeb-teddy . . . get me out of here! He’s the innocent victim who remains incarcerated despite Gillian’s’ freedom — the cuddly bear adored by her children at Unity High School.

So today The Sun is launching a Free The Khartoum One campaign to return him to the pining kids.

The teddy, confiscated by police as “evidence” against Gillian, is in solitary confinement in a bolted court store room.

And a Sudanese legal source said: “Authorities here want all signs of this case locked away forever. As far as the bear is concerned, they want the key thrown away.”

The teddy’s sympathisers say he never asked to be given the Islam prophet’s name and would gladly have answered to another.

We are calling on our readers to push for his release by signing the petition below. Post coupons to The Sun at Teddy Petition, 1 Virginia Street, London E98 1SN. We’ll pass them on to the Sudanese Embassy in London.

Other celeb bears backed our campaign.

Paddington said: “I’ve sent him a parcel of marmalade sandwiches.”

Pooh said: “It stinks.”

TV’s Dani BEHR and soccer’s TEDDY Sheringham would not comment.

I'd link the quote but it is to an extreme far right fascist organisation and I don't think it would be appropriate for a link to appear from this website

Actually it's quite ironic that they got a quote from Winnie the Pooh as children in a school in another city in Sudan decided to name their teddy bear 'Winnie the Pooh', but when it was discovered he was best friends with Piglet he was taken outside and stoned to death!
