im using fruity loops studio 7 and i would like to know if anyone knows how to make a good trance transitional sweep. i dont think a sound clip is needed, we all know what it sounds like. any tips on how to make one? |

White noise.
High attack.
Long release.
Reverb.
Delay? |

3xOSC... white noise... go to a lp or SVP filter setting... fast attack, mid release... wierd reverb effects (possible a tube effect on one reverb bus)... mid-resonance... automate the cutoff frequency... delay if desired... automate phaser or flangus effects for more whacked out sweepage... |

I like to apply the dynamics and effects theory for sweeps to other oscillators as well. You can use bandpass filter sweeps and pitch shifting on saw waves to get trippy space effects. You can also use these kinds of ideas on FM synths to get something unique. |

(1) 3xOsc (or Sytrus) set to a white noise output.
(1) Fruity Phaser
(1) Fruity X-Y Controller
Set the 3xOsc's filter to BP and give it a high resonance value. Now link the Cutoff to the X of the X-Y Controller.
Max out most of the phaser controls and link "Min Depth" to the Y of the X-Y controller.
Play or draw in a note on the 3xOsc and move the X-Y controller, and voila! |

I've also had some luck with white noise passed through a bit-crusher and then
automating the amount of bit reduction. |

tinker reverse reverb time synced up 2-4 time for double effect and 3/8-3/16th time if u tweak it carefully for some unique . im a big fan of the reason rv7000 now just because of this algorith its surprisingly dynamic and professional sounding when played with enough. |
