lol.. I meant "things are as they are" when i said "it is what it is " referring to your comment about me being straightforward..why sugar coat anything or add/take away from things as they really are? theres no point

i dont know if they would b/c i can only speak for myself.. but look at whats in front of you.. most, if not all of these incidents have occured where the gunman was "disturbed" or "an outcast" or was "bullied"..and most of them are young too- under 25 to say the least... how many star athletes or popular people people do u hear about going nuts?

this kid wrote "i've been a piece of all my life.. now i'll be famous"... low self-esteem, confidence

besides its a matter of opinion.. for example, some people in the south(ern) states still don't consider blacks as equals.. there goes the ego thing again.

i see...but i think it also might have to do with the life style/ environment ppl live in

im not too sure about that... see before high school, i lived on the west side of chicago or the inner city and most of the people were 40% blacks,40% hispanics and 20% everybody else mainly white tho. and although it was a more dangerous place to live, being the inner city and where gang activity is as normal as G-ing out at Zone, i found the mentality there was more "dont with anyone and they wont with you"....

then for high school i moved to the suburbs where 70% was white, 30 % was everybody else. and there i found more people were segregated into categories such as the jocks, the "essais", the loners and such... the attitude there was " you're either in or your not"- somewhat like a popularity contest and i found that the suburbs was actually meaner than the inner city..

so based on my experiences, even tho the west side was more dangerous, i was more comfortable there because i knew if i ed aournd, i'd be dealt with... in the suburbs all you had to do was be popular and life was a breeze.

besides, how many inner city kids you hear about goin on killing sprees?

that's what i meant by having to do with the individual's life style, environment..like you said....you're more likely to have a suburban emo shoot up a school than some inner city kid

lol

I haven't read thru all this but some of those posts are

Inner cities are far more dangerous, shootings are perhaps for different motives but in terms of safety and frequency, there's no comparison.

ummm we are not discussing the fact that inner cities are far more dangerous...duuuuuh...obviously they are.that's beside the point..but if u look at particular types of shootings that happen where kids randomly go on a shooting rampage, such as at schools and malls in this case and then committing suicide in the end, suburban kids are more likely to do that...inner city crime is a whole other topic (and yes we know that they occur more frequently)so next time read thru all this first
