I've had a lot of love recently for Sasha's 1995 studio EM, which is very much an epic house showcase, and when looking for his Que Club live mix that followed it up, I stumbled across this later EM at the same venue. Tracklist, as accurate as I can get it:
Phoenix - Rise Up
Tom Wilson - Techno Cat (Perplexer Mix)
Angel Moraes - Heaven Knows (Galvatron Dub - The Vth Column)
Zee - Dreamtime (Quivver Dub)
Zee - Dreamtime (Quivver Mix)
Evolution - Look Up The Light (Quivver Dub)
Fluke - Tosh (Cosh Mix)
Fade - Seperation
Mozaic - Rays Of The Rising Sun (Dekkard and Danes Mach Dub)
E-N - The Horn Ride
Minds Of Men - Brand New Day (Dekkard and Danes Meltdown Dub)
Absolutely fantastic. It's completely different to his studio EM, less poppy, very clubby and no-nonsense progressive house that just builds and builds until it's frenetic. In many ways I like it even more. Anyone else have any love for this set?
(Incidentally, I'm not sure if I can upload it at the moment, but as with most EMs it's pretty easy to find, I think I got it through a Google search) |

I actually like this essential mix from the same year better, although this set was fantastic as well.
Sasha Live (w/ Tong) @ The Arches (Glasgow, Scotland): November 26, 1995
01. Phoenix - Rise Up
02. Alcatraz - Give Me Your Love
03. Angel Moraes - Heaven Knows (I Can't Understand)(Unknown Mix)
04. Simply Red - Remember The First Time
05. Sasha & BT - Oat
06. Castle Trancelot - Resonance
07. Jayn - Lost Without You
I've never heard sasha play a more energetic set than this one, the BPM was easily 135+...and phoenix - rise up is the greatest intro track in history IMO |

| I have to bump my own thread. I'm just playing this as I'm getting ready to go out, and my ing God is it a superb mix. Possibly my favourite live-set of all time. The throbbing opener, the masterful back-to-back mixes of Dreamtime, the way Sasha changes gear effortlessly with the Fluke track... magnificent. I will upload this set tomorrow, because this needs to be heard. |

I did check out The Arches set, by the way, but it was way too fast for me. It wasn't the tempo so much as the fact he'd pitched up the tracks ridiculously- they were prog tracks being played at almost hard house speeds. Heart Of Imagination just sounded bizarre at the speed he played it, for me.
But yes. I've still to upload this. |

Haha, Sasha definitely pitched it up for that set. I understand you saying it was way too fast, personally for me it was just cool hearing Sasha pitch it up that fast. The Simply Red track sounded massive, as did "Rise Up" pitched up. |
