WOW, what a great party saturday. I had so much fun. Great turnout, the main room was shoulder to shoulder throughout mine and skazi's set. even with Benny Benassi, Morillo, freezing cold and rain.
I had so much fun playing, and was very impressed by skazi's set. I had heard musically they were not going to sound very good but i thought it was a great show.
and the closing set by the pharmicist and Samtabul :eyes:
those guys are incredible. Stright up full on psy and they were quite entertaining as well. very good music all night and a great vibe.
Cant wait for the next one. Jan 12th w/ Yahel, Victor Dinaire, Mark Lewis and myself

Awesome man. Glad you had fun and hope the many others who were able to go had as much fun.
The acts LA brings in lately and that you get to open for are amazing. I will def be in attendance for yahel and am still trying to figure out how to get to the skazi and yahel show before wmc lol.
How was skazi live? I mean did Asher (the keys and mixer man) do much at all? Did skazi play alot or mess around more on the stage? I mean how much can you tell was live to not live? Also, did he say anything about new tracks from his upcoming cd and if so how did it sound and how does his show in general sound? I know this tour is supposed to be for that in a way.
Skazi is definetly a neat blend of rock and edm. Be interesting to hear what those who were there who never saw him had to say. |

i have never seen him before. I have seen infected a couple times and was expecting something along those lines. I actually enjoyed skazi much more then infected. It was darker and a bit more dancable imo. IM has to much going on at times and gets a bit to hard for me. Skazi was quite hard, but a bit more minimal with sounds so it sounded cleaner to me. The other guy didnt do to much, but overall tehy were very entertaining and played great music. Any psy fan however would have loved the closing set by the pharmicist and samtabul. They play fro psytribe events out here often. I had a chat prior to the show with skazi but he didnt mention to much about their upcoming cd or their newer stuff. The conversation was actually hardly about music.
anyway, come out to yahel and say hello! |

| mr psychadellic, psychadellic ed said that he didnt enjoy the show at all by skazi... hmmm??? what could have caused this? he said it was a lot of metal and was less psychadellic.. he told me not to go to the next show, but i think ihave to experience skazi at least once...:toothless |

| yea, his sound is not psychedlic as say astrix or even IM. Its more of a hard electronic rock with elements of psy mostly in the basslines and structures. But the sounds are def more metal. I thought it was very entertaining though. to each their own. I would check it out to decide for your self. |

Was there with my bro and some friends. My bro, he likes psytrance too, and any kinda trance that is hard, fast and dark. Still Skazi lost him, said he didnt feel it, nor was it dancable. Understandable, he got no metal background.
Overal, great great party. Love the people, love the vibe, hate the fact that the bars were understaffed (waited 45 mins for 2 drinks+1 water). About the music, love Dj Josh Allen's last 45 mins. Just glamorous and epic!! The Pharmasist and Samtambul tore the place a part for sure!! However, I still think their set in Cirus' backroom last time when Astrix was there was much better, psychedelic speakin. About Skazi: horrible!! I cant help but thinkin that probably it's been so long since he was here in the US, he thought the people may have forgotten who he was, so there was a need of goin out there and start impressin people all over again. The whole show to me is so much like some cheap 80' "glam metal" concert!! One thing that I like about psytrance is its power of mindtrip. Skazi' set completely lack that. It was a horrible psytrance set, a horrible metal show (if that was what he was goin after), a horrible blend of metal and trance (if that was that he actually had in mind that nite). |

| So that's their names? The Pharmasist and Samtambul? I remember them when they played at Circus! They were insane! I loved what they were playing but couldn't stay through their whole set. If I had, they would have killed me! So... I took turns between them and Astrix. :D |

yea expect a skazi set to not be elctronic as much as others. I think its still cool though since i am a fan of metal and electronica. Works for me just as new IM does etc.
Going to watch the vids now see what it was like. But yea, heard your set josh was really good just as someone posted above this. Way to go man. |

So i have finally found some time to go on here....
Yeah as Mecca has said, I didn't really like the Skazi set. It was too much metal, too much thrash, it was almost as if they didn't allow enough time for the song to develop. It was almost more industrial rock to me than electronic. THey did do some of their more famous songs, but again, they didn't let them develop quite enough (for me).
In my many years before I discovered trance I use to listen to metal/hardcore and even hardcore trance, (not Happy Hardcore), but that night I could just not get into Skazi's sound. I actually prefer IM over skazi now. =( Sucks too because I have been trying to see these two for like over 3 years and I finally got to see em and well, I was left disappointed. CD>Live.
Josh's set was great though. I could definitely get into that, especially towards the end. Good job man!
I stuck around a little for the Pharmacist and Samtabul, but their set at Circus when Astrix was there was a lot better I think. I remember dancing at that show and my glasses fell off...I even slipped once and hit the floor hard I was dancing so crazily. hahahah.
So..conclusion: Disappointed by Skazi and now I can see why a lot of psyheads don't like them. Maybe I have turned into one of them now myself...aaahhhhhhh...
PS: The bar prices were crazy expensive!
Next stop: Hopefully Bamboo Forest and Circus. ...
Hej hej. |
