ok whats this like? was looking at one today and thinking about buying it. Any reviews i should hear/read? anyone have anything bad/good to say? any other mixers i should look at?

the other mixers i had looked at were:

Ecler Nuo 5
Pioneer DJM 600
Pioneer DJM 800 (too expensive)

any opinions on what i should go for?

Not having messed around with a lot of mixers, I am personally a fan of the Pioneer DJM-500 so out of the mixers you listed, the DJM-600 would be my choice since it is essentially an improved version of the 500 which I feel has a clean, simple layout with a lot of capabilities, inputs/outputs, good sound effects, and most importantly good sound quality considering the price and the flexibility the mixer has.

I personally think Pioneer are taking the piss. Apparently they've even raised the price of the 800 just to justify the 700

did you check out the Xone 42 that looks real promising.. that'll prolly be my next mixer when i choose to revamp everything

Don't get the 600 for sure.

The Xone 42 does look very nice.

I spun last weekend on a 700 for the first time and loved it. Really solid feel to it. Don't go 600 at this point, it's really outdated technology (5 years +).
Allied Nations
that big urei 4 channel mixer is awesome, but its linear...

id go for rane empath rotary

More like 8-9+!

Ya i probably wont go for the 600 since it is old haha

the xone 42 looks nice, but i would prefer something with built in effects if possible...

go 700, forget the 600.

I have the 800 - I ing love that thing. I mean REALLY love it.

And whoever said Pio have raised the price of the 800, it's still the same price as it ever was on the UK sites.

I got my 800 and 2 x CDJ1000s for £2300, which if you remove £788 per CDJ1000 makes the DJM800 £724 - BARGAIN!!!!

ya i have a friend who works at a store here and we checked around the time the 700 came out the 800's price went up a few hundred, at least in canada

The 800 went up around $300 state-side. I was around $1200 before the 700 came out and now it's around $1500.
