yesterday tiesto was at antwerp is burning (www.antwerpisburning.be). And I must say, it turned out into a disaster. After 45' of really nice uplifting trance the police came into the tent and said the music must stop immediately, cuz it was too loud...
ofourse this can only happen in a country like belgium. I dont think we'll see him next year again.
Very dissapointing ofcourse, surely if you paid 25EUR for it.
nice1 antwerp...
/me ashamed for being belgian
sorry for bad english
Scav
that is so terrible, had anyone complained that it was too loud or something?

I would be so goddamn pissed if that had happend on an event I was on.
Gladius
probably the police complained themselfes, cuz it was in an area were only few people live.
And yeah, i was really pissed, was looking forward to it for weeks and then you get something like that =\.
Some guys were even trashing some gates 'n stuff.
there were 2 hangars left which in the music kept playing. but only with stupid techno, so that wasnt really an altarnative...

ps: after tiesto Judge Jules and Yves Deruyter would have been played =\.

The authorities sound well out of order, I would expect cops to do this sort this across the Atlantic not in Europe, someone probably called the cops, its a pity. I would be very angry if I was there.

In Sweden our goverment has instated a taskforce called the "ravecommission" which has the nice task of interfering with parties, arresting people for drugabuse (no matter if they have drugs on them or in their system, if you are their then you are a junkie) and generally just trying to close down the swedish clubscene.

There has been some big headlines in Sweden about the ravecommission, about how they made 20 people wait in a cell for 6 hours, sitting on the floor without letting them use the bathroom.

Turns out, no one was under influence.

Theese things just makes me MAD.

yeh, its sad when the authorities it up, and the media...
Like in norway, when hyperstate is arranged, they dont report about the actual events (dj's / ppl having fun and so on).
They just report about the 5 ppl who has been charged for using drugs...

Sad? indeed

I was at Antwerp Is Suckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkking and trust me, I'm pissed off! :whip:
I did 300 km with my friend greggy to join this party (We're from the East of France! :whip: )
I came only to see Tiësto spinning and a little bit for Judge Jules and YDR too...

When I saw where the Trance area took place (in a funfaire tent), I was disappointed!
The sound system was ty... Such conditions are inacceptable for DJs like Tiesto or Judge Jules!
Then, Tiesto played a wonderful set during about 45 minutes and the crow was mad!
I was just in front of Tiesto, he was so active in the DJ booth, he was smiling at his fans! All was going fine till ing policemen came to ask him for being less noisy!! :eyes: :eyes:
How can MAGIK MUSIK be played if the DJ can't hear tracks he is mixing ????!!!!!

Ppl were whisling! They decided to close the trance area and greggy & me decided to go to La rocca where "God" had to spin for 4 magikal hours! Entrance cost 15€ but if we didn't see him yesterday, we were going to commit suicide! ;)

Belgium won't see me party anymore for a long time... :(

yeah another thing is e doesn't cause problems really in society, theres a drug death sometimes usually when someone over does it, or mixes it with other substances, but the sad part is the crack down on people that use E and Speed (anphetamines) and set up special task forces, when theres Crackheads and Herion addicts stealing and robbing people to fuel their addiction it really takes the piss.

Another thing to, imagine how many deaths drunks cause when they drink too much get into a fight and someone gets beaten to death, the town where I live we get about a murder usually once a month, or sometimes none for a month or two and then 3 people being murdered in a short space of time like two weeks, but out of these murders about 4 of them always involve a fight between people out in the town centre drinking, and fighting, its really sad deaths like this can be prevented drunken brawls can get broken up by the police, but their more bothered making respectable clubbers lives a complete misery I just don't get it.

Yeah :( When will they understand, Alcahol is evil (well...) but how much trouble to get off 50,000 people in a field taking a pill? Think about putting 50,000 drunk people in a field. What would happen then?
webmeister
Yeah agreed on the alcohol vs pills thing...
Last New Years Eve I went to a massive dance party on Bondi Beach (that famous aussie beach in sydney) .. 20,000 people going off to Darren Emerson at midnight is quite something hehe :)

But yeah, 20k people on pills is fine .. you walk around feeling safe and happy. But around 3am some drunk s from pubs nearby started pushing the fences over and suddenly the party was full of drunk wankers looking to cause trouble. Man that sucked .. really ruined the vibe of the place :(
