There are plenty of large companies making mainstream producs (Cars, cameras, TVs, clothes) that I think are a joke and wouldn't pay a dime for. That doesn't mean they shouldn't have the right to sell it.
I think clothes are a perfect example... you have A&F, Gap and all that selling pre-torn jeans for $150! Or even nicer places, selling the same clothes with a brand name leather patch sewn on to them that magically marks up the price $100. THATS a ripoff my friends...
Lame? Sure... but if people don't buy it, it shouldn't make a difference. |

Beautiful subject matter does not necessarily mean beautiful photo. for me it's about the mind behind the lens, how it expresses what it is thinking simply by framing a particular moment in a particular way
photos that are just pictures of pretty things are kind of boring to me... These two are like a stock photo and a fashion photo - merchandise, on the same level as a postcard
im not a photographer but i am surrounded by a lot of photography and i have to agree with the OP that it is pretty ridiculous. You get a lot of wannabe photographers especially in architecture school... |
