Also, guess what, I didnt like the 70's disco either. Or The White Stripes. Or Bang Bang. But at least I can recognize a skilled Dj when I see one, and Garnier might be one of the best on the planet.

The most skilled dj in the world can still throw down garbage tracks and make the music sound horrible. Even bomb skills cant hide garbage 70's disco.

i was not there however, so i have no opnion on Garnier.

Has nothing to do with "skill"
and everything to do with putting all of that myriad music together and make it work. Which is exactly what Garnier did.

Garnier could give a less if you don't like some disco. He does, and so do other people, and he's gonna deliver it perfectly, because you're not there to hear your favorite track or a bunch of the same everyone else is playing. You're there for the whole off set that is entirely an experience on its own.

I don't even know why I'm defending Garnier on here. Either you know how amazing he is, or you just don't ing get it.

Then why are you even trying to defend a position :p

He never played a single ing disco track, he played a small section (maybe 30 mins or so) of funked up house with blaring vocals and horns...but it certainly wasn't disco. And lol @ calling disco "garbage". If it wasn't for disco half of us wouldn't even be here ;)

tell me which position i am defending? Im simply saying that just because a dj is skilled does not make for a good night musically. If julia doesnt like disco, then do what you want with it...that doesnt mean it is going to miracally sound good. And im sure he is obviosuly not playing true disco in 2008 at avalon. btw i happen to like disco, and was implying it was garbage as that seems to be the main reason why julia did not like his set. This kind of reminds me of an eddie halloway set. Musically they are never that good, but he is damn entertaining to watch. Similar concepts i think
