So yeah...first major snowstorm up here in the northeast, and holy is it hilarious. I'm a lifelong new englander, and I know that while this town has a lot of college students from all over, still the majority of the population has at least lived in new england for most of their lives. Nonetheless, people DO NOT ING KNOW HOW TO DRIVE. I honestly just don't get it. We get a dusting and I swear people pull out their blindfolds, pull the e-brake, and go nuts. I live about 2.5 miles from the center of town, and I just headed up there for some coffee. While yes, we're getting slammed by snowstorm, I'm not retarded and I know how to drive so I figure no biggie. And it wasn't, driving was slow as hell cause there's a lot of traffic from campus just closing, but still, nothing terrible.

So on the way into town on Main st., it's mostly uphill. Nothing terribly steep, and most of the way there it gets a little bit steeper just before the traintracks cross the road. So as I'm getting close I'm following a schoolbus so I can't see ahead of the bus, but I notice we're going a lot slower. I think hm, it's probably just the bus is slowing down because they stop before traintracks as per state law. Not the case. There was a BMW just below the traintracks. It couldn't make it. A ing 2003 BMW, with nice tires too. And he couldn't ing make it. Bus went by him with no problem, I went by him with no problem (after coming to a complete stop at the exact same place on the hill). It was just painful to watch. He would be stopped, then just ing floor it, expecting that to work. And he'd slide down a little, then, if he was lucky, gain a little to end up where he started. Seriously, that car should be able to take this snow in stride, and he was just absolutely braindead.

He had no idea. I got to starbucks, got my coffee, and 15 minutes later I pass the same traintracks, and SUPRISE the BMW's still there :haha:. Here's the kicker, he's recruited like 3 people to help push him. Three people wearing tennis shoes trying to push a BMW up a hill in a snowstorm. Someone needs to make :crap: with a wool hat on it. We need a whole series of :crap:s for various circumstances.

So yeah, anyone else getting hit by this storm?

ninja: you autoformatting, I'll use all caps in my title if I want to :toothless

ya we're getting hit up with snow pretty hard here in jersey. normally it wouldnt be much of a big deal but the combination of snow & sleet have made most of the roads icy. we're getting let out of work early today (in an hour) and i am not looking forward to driving :( hopefully there wont be that many idiots on the turnpike on the commute home

man i used to live in new england

the people are like droids, and the weather is horrible all year round, there are few hotties, and everyone just has this strange sense of uptightness, like they're constantly paranoid of something.

when i went to visit new york again, i really noticed how people from new england worry when i would do the simplest things like, I don't know, eat mcdonalds on the subway or jay walk, and people would panic and get all weird.

my theory is that they don't even notice the world around them cause they're so busy internally panicking.

so i smoked a joint right on 5th avenue, sitting on some steps. no one said anything, noticed, or seemed to care at all...

the world is what you make it, eh?

oh yeah, the cold.
