Need a MP3 Player - Suggestions
View this Thread in Original format

I'm looking to buy a mp3 player that is not an Apple product. I need something small, USB chargeable, FM tuner (optional) & can store 1 or 2 GBs. It's not for me, it's for my dad.

I've tried the Sandisk Express San and it died within an hr of testing.

Any suggestions?

Creative Zen.

I have one...nice little player. Great battery life, user-friendly. Also has a line-in jack for recording if req'd. My only beef if the output isn't as hot as I'd like, but it's still plenty loud.

It was ~$100 for a couple Gigs.

Yeah i got the 4GB P2 for FunkyCrew, ive been customizing it a bit for her before i give it to her for christmas, but from what ive experienced with this player is that is worth every penny, paid 150 for the white version. also, the bluetooth capabilities offer object push, and allow you to pair the P2 with your cell phone to answer calls in your ear phones, and talk using the built in mic. also, samsung just announced this for the P2 as well

enables 802.11g, FM tuner for playing through your car stereo, micro SD and SDHC slot. no word on pricing, but i doubt it'll be more expensive than the unit. personally i like this far more than the ipod touch.

oh and most importantly, ITS A UMS DEVICE !!! (Usb Mass Storage) no need for an application to transfer music/video/photos/text files, etc...

she promised not to check the thread, and i gave her some hints too.

that one for 67.95 is the K3, another solid touch sensitive unit, great player as well, and was my original choice.

for the P2, i got it from futureshop, but i had to get them to match bes t buy.

at best buy the 4gb was 149.99 but they didnt have the color i wanted, at futureshop, they had the color i wanted for 219 ! ing ripoff, so i told them to match it and they did.
