I have some wicked disco music playing, so no, I didn't watch :p

You should. You have a great sense of humour, and I think you would enjoy it, just from that :) It's certainly not a dumb comedy movie. Coen brothers don't do dumb :p

Haha, thanks, but it's not because I think it's dumb (as a matter of fact, not all my past-times are "intellectual": I occasionally listen to happy hardcore and I spend an awful lot of time in an internet forum where people passionately debate about foreskin :p). It's because I usually only watch drama when I'm on my own... and I'm not much of a movie watcher. Although I know enough to make a joke or two about these films, I never watched a version of Karate Kid that didn't involve Jackie Chan, I slept through the whole Star Wars saga, I don't know the name of the Godfather (though somewhere in my imagination I like to think he's citizen Kane, who in turn is Vivid Boy's alt) and even though I loved every second of the last film with John McClane, I've never watched the Die Hard trilogy... I mean, if it still counts a trilogy. Also, Narnia of the Rings and Harry Potter are all the same thing in my head - probably because I've never seen either :D

As you can see, I'm just a poor movie goer :p

Very smart writing and dialogue for a stoner movie. Seriously, even a couple of things went over my head... and that says something! :tongue3

Oh nice play there. Nice. Smooth.

I haven't seen True Grit either :o

Go get Oh Brother, Where Art Thou as well. It's a classic.

No, really, a classic. It's Homer's Odyssey done the the Coen brothers. Go and watch it.

so funny how coen brothers went from (essentially) comedies to reallllly serious ...

just watched true grit: It is awesome, but yeah, such a huge difference from their older, also awesome stuff, such as OBWAT and lebowski

The first films I ever saw from them weren't comedies though, so I never really considered them to be comedy writers/directors. Millers Crossing was the first one I saw, then Fargo. Not comedies :p

You should see burn after reading. It's from 2008, so somewhat recent and is everything but serious (and everything also includes awesome) and is from the Coen brothers.
