Since its the holiday season I know some of you might get a cat or dog for someone or even yourself for the holidays. If you do PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE adopt from a shelter.
5 to 10 million shelter pets are euthanized every year due to over population, back yard breeders and people who don't get their pet fixed.
Note: Most pet stores get their pets from puppy mills. If you go in and ask for the pedigree of a certain animal, you either won't get any info, or it'll be bull. They're goal is profit.
I know its not music related, but I figured since people are getting pets as presents for people, I might as well put it here.
If you're going to get a pet, try shelters then a reputable breeder.
All reputable breeders will have homes lined up for the dogs before the bitch is bred. Also, if you can no longer keep the dog, you sign a contract saying that you will return it to them.
If you're looking for a specific breed, there are breed specific rescues.
