Insanely excited about this. Cosmic Gate got me into EDM 2 years or so ago, without their music I would probably never have discovered this whole scene, will be awsome to see them play here in Adelaide. Probably gonna forego going out on new years for this :D

Really hope they drop a couple of their classics at some point in the set. I know their sound has changed a lot since their No More Sleep era releases, but still would love to hear something along the lines of Exploration of Space/Firewire/The Drums/Back to Earth (appropriate)/etc somewhere in there. Not sure what the chances are, but I can hope. And if not, it should still be some quality trance, a good way to kick start the year's partying.

2 weeks to go, bring this on :D

Im sure the boys will play the classics at some stage, prob in the last hour or so. It is there first visit here after all, and alot of people i know want to hear the tunes that made them who they are today.

Cool, sounds promising. It would make sense, given that the flyers floating around at enchanted/pvd the other weekend pretty much described them as a hard dance act :| I found that kind of odd actually, though I guess it will probably help draw people (not that Cosmic Gate need help to pull a crowd, I would hope) given that this is Adelaide, after all.

I'm not too fussed either way, just looking forward to some quality trance, hard or otherwise. Especially since PVD turned out to be a fair bit of a letdown for me.
DJ SOLACE
PVD is hardly "trance" these days. I wasnt too impressed either. The flyers promote Cosmic Gate as 'hard dance legends', because they are. This is Adelaide as you said and we need to promote anyway possible to get people there. Lets hope they get the support they deserve. Im pretty confident it will do well. I wouldnt put them on if i didnt:)

Are we gonna see you at Echo friday night for Steve Strangis and Ahmet? If your after a quality trance night till Cosmic Gate this would be it.
Taranis
I was going to check it out, but work called me in to do a 6 - 10 shift, so it looks like I'll miss out :(

Musically, I didn't mind his set too much after the first hour or so, but I'd downloaded some of his more recent sets so I knew what to expect. It was tranceish enough for me, I'm told he even dropped airwave somewhere in there.

But the poor planning of the event just made it totally impossible to actually enjoy the music. Spending 20 minutes getting crushed in a crowd of fluro kids trying to get into the main room because they oversold the tickets, then having to line up for 10 minutes at the bar just to get a bottle of water, then having to push through sweaty dudes with no shirt on to get to the dancefloor, then being unable to do more than jump up and down while getting crushed by more sweaty dudes with no shirts on because the dancefloor is overflowing and there's no room to actually dance, then pushing back out to get another bottle of water, etc etc for the entire set. Terrible crowd, ty music aside from Yoji and PVD (but electro/house/tech isn't really my thing), and PVD's set I was unable to actually enjoy due to ty event organization.

But I've spent enough time in the last two weeks bitching about that party :p

I don't doubt Cosmic Gate will manage to pull a good crowd, they're such a huge name, I've already heard a huge amount of talk about this night, and a lot of it from people who usually aren't found at trance parties. A huge name playing at a well known club with massive promotion, I can't see it not being an amazing night.

Hey, if Showtek (hardstyle in adelaide lol) managed to pack out the upstairs room the weekend before enchanted/PVD with fairly weak promotion, there's no way this can go wrong.

Whee two weeks to go.

they usually do pump out their new-sound reworks of their classics near the end of their sets.. chances are you'll get 'the drums' and more recently the 'firewire' reconstruction which are farken killer tunes! i've seen em bout 5 times now from when they were hard trance legends to their softer proggier techtrance stuff now and they never fail to impress..

can't wait to catch em NYD @ summadayze (even though they're going to be relegated to the ty side stage *angerfists*)..
