Sony and Pioneers head phones suck! They break too easy near the ear piece. I can't stand that!! They start out OK..but after about three to four months they get brittle. I've been DJing since 1994 and I've found that the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II are far much better than any head phones made from Pioneer or Sony! You can hear everything! Plus, they don't break, at the ear piece, while you are DJing a set like Sony and Pioneers do! Yes, that has happened to me!!
Here's a link below! I have had no problem since using the Sennheiser head phones! Great sound quality and they are sturdy. In fact, I would say that the Sony and Pioneer head phones are nothing but wasted money on garbage! Here's a link to the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II head phones before you waste your money! There are many more links to shops that sell these head phones! I suggest you buy from Guitar center! They are a good shop that has the head phones.

No, but I have broken several pairs of MDR-V700 DJ Headphones...and it looks like they basically have the same set up as the Sony MDR-7506's....I did take a look at them, you know??...give it time...or treat them real gentle like...:toocool: |

lol man, they're completely different headphones. the mdr-v700 are notorious for breaking because they're pretty much all plastic and have that swivel mechanism that always breaks, the mdr-7506 aren't plastic and don't have the swivel. ;) |

I don't trust sony... The Sennheiser HD 25-1 II can be trusted... |

i know the hd 25's are good phones, i just prefer circumaural ones. and i know sennheisers have good sound (i have 4 different sennheiser phones myself). but the sony mdr-7506 are really good phones. i was almost put off by them being sony too as i wouldn't want to buy anything by them as usually they aren't very good. :) |

Also, try the Sony MDR 7509HD. Just like the 7506, but with a bigger and slightly higher spec driver, and has a heavy duty swivel for the cups. A lot of camera men and broadcast guys use these becuase of the quality and extreme durability.
the best....but you won't get much change from £200.

are the 7506's the same as the mdr-v600's? because I have had the same pair (v600's) since my first beatmatched record and the only thing that needs to be fixed is the foam for the ears (I am a sweaty bastard at times) :)

At the end, it all comes down to personal preference. I owned a single pair of 7506 for about 5 years. I was really happy with them. However, as I started playing with better sound systems, I noticed they're hard to hear. I switched to the Technics RP-DJ1200 and they never broke on me. I still have them as back up headphones. The only problem was that after two years, one side went out. Than I bought the Technics RP-DH1200, you know the shiny ones, and they SUCK! I hated the sound, it sounded too hollow, and they broke right away. My friend than let me borrow his Pioneer Headphones and I loved them. They do break, as I can tell mine are about to take a after a year, but I was happy with them at loud venues.
When these break, my next ones will be the Sennheiser.

no, the mdr-v6 are almost the same as the mdr-7506, but there are some differences (i don't know what exactly though), but the mdr-v600 are entirely different. |
