i really wish everyone can witness the amazing skills of richie hawtin. a detroit legend himself, minimal pioneer and quite the character as well.
You don't see many djs sipping champagne while banging the hell out of people. |

| a legend. sheer brilliance, sometimes he did some really cool breakdowns with a melody and everyone would wonder about. He wouldn't drop the basslines until a minute had passed and it was just sick. |

I like some of Hawtin's work, no doubt. There are just some tracks and/or reworks that i just can't seem to understand, or have a connection to. Some may say the same about trance, which is fine because here we all have our differences and we all partake in the genre of our choice. I used to hate Zabiela with a passion, until I started checking out his sets and productions. Then without a cause, I found myself buying his tracks and even paid a few pennies for the show here in h-town.
Probably the only set I constantly find myself listening to is Zabiela/Hawtin @ WMC '07. They both played insane tracks and the mixing was awesome. |

yeah, but i was never a big hawtin/m_nus fan. I dig minimal alot and I play it in my sets but watching hawtin spin those crazy loops was something alot more rewarding than listening to his mixes on the ipod while running.
That guy is perphaps the sickest dj out there and i really hope all of you get to see him.
The cops had to ask Richie to bring the volume down, to which he reacted by simply fading out the track and walking away from an incomplete (imo) 2 and half hour set. |
