The decoration was pretty darn good. I think everyone was waiting for the two santa's helpers bras to fall off. lol. Santa shenanigans was pretty darn amusing.
Eh. Didn't feel the house tunes Mark O was dropping. The trance part, all the tunes were more or less expected classics for first 3 hours. Caught up with my trance buddy Cale and I think both of us were just too happy to hear some proper trance. And the candy raver tunes. Fun.
Around 5am just wasn't feeling whatever was Mark O was dropping so checked out gallery for a bit, came back and Mark O was really digging into the crate for some rare tunes.
Yeah, even the vocal tunes didn't annoy me. Chakra - Love Shines Through, Aurora - Ordinary World (Above and Beyond remix)... Can't remember more IDs right now. (Hah. Coxx, see, I can love vocal trance too) ;)
Tune of the Night was definitely Cosmic Gate - Fire Wire (DJ Scot Project remix). Just hard banging bassline and creepy melody. WIN!

Overall pretty happy with what mark O played. Will damn sure come to next one :)
Some people were just outrageously pushy though. I literally got shoved out of the way like 3 times almost off my feet. Annoying.

I can't believe i missed it. Must have been in gallery at that point. One of my favourite vocal trance songs of all time. I'm so disappointed to of missed it. |

I got there with my buddy (DJ Preacherman). I was so excited for this night as it's the night I look forward to the most all year long. Mark Oliver did not disappoint. I was tossed back in time to my early days at the Guv, closing my eyes often during the classics to absorb the moment.
As for all the TAs (and all new ones I met (electro88, etc), had time to shoot the with Pett, Oz, Invasionmix and other TAs, and there was a sense of pure euphoria shared by all. OH, and everyone had PLENTY of room to dance!

So I'm on one of the podiums dancing my ass off and this on amazon type chick comes aboard. As I'm grooving along, I felt this aggressive grinding behind me. I turned for a sec and it was this chick going berzerk behind me. I ignored it for a bit but she was on me again. I was practically being pushed off so I stepped aside to give her room. After a couple of minutes she bumped into me and again I moved out of her way, worried I'll be pushed off. Another minute goes by and with the pressure and beast-like strength of two hands across my back, she hammered me off the platform to the unsuspecting ppl below. There was no way to anticipate this and I was caught completely off guard. I landed right beside this couple on my feet and apologized to them and told them what happened. If that chick was a guy I would have grabbed his leg and flipped him off that box, but I didn't want to cause a scene with her and potentially up my night. what a bitch!
The rest of the night went great. Awesome tunes and I met many TA's and chilled for a while with Chinamon, Shaya and Abercrombie! Hi guys! I left with my buddies when they finally kicked everyone out.
On another note... I got those two "Santa's Helpers" girls heating up the stage for about five minutes on video. It's put together and I have both of their permissions to post it. I'm just waiting for one last thing and it'll be up in a day or two. I'll also make it available for download. |
