Nothing new. Sasha has had production partners on all his work dating back to the Qat collection in the early 90s. The only time he doesn't acknowledge co-producers is on some of his remixes and possibly the Ohmna/Arkham Asylum EP (unverified). In this sense, Tiesto actually follows on from Sasha, not the reverse.
Moreover, this has never been new. Oakenfold worked extensively with Steve Osbourne, Digweed with Nick Muir and Sven Vath with any number of different producers over the years. They're all DJs first and musicians second, and so require solid producers to help them if they want to make high quality records of their own. |
