What vst is good for strings? |

atmoshphere
or nexus
I prefer atmoshphere's strings over nexus's though
It can go really low on some notes without sounding odd or unreal.
Listen to the nexus demo on orchestra i believe, has some very good patches in it as well |

real strings or synth strings?
can't beat kontakt or sampletank for real strings. the included samples are great. halion, i am not a fan of. |

Icone |
Hypersonic is also pretty ok I think, apart from Spectrasonics Atmosphere. |

yep. i wouldn't really call it a "sampler" though. kontakt/halion etc. will let you do a lot of manipulation, whereas sampletank only offers playback and some basic controls. the strength of sampletank used to be the size of the library and the price. nowadays, kontakt has a far bigger library now (35gb vs. 4gb or something) and price difference isn't that huge either. |

what is a highly recommended vst for the creation of real strings including Strings sections, individual chellos, viola's, violins etc, with spiccatto, piccatto, legato string techniques etc ? I have been using hypersonic 2 which i am finding quite nice but am wondering what other quality programs are out there for strings. |

I use the Philharmonik Miroslav and I am happy with it. It's got just about all of your orchestral needs. |
