me personally i think armin has. i dont think he plays the music he wants to play, he plays the music record companies pay him to play. hes already admitted this in a interview when he said "if it were up to me id be playing quirky ambient music" :nervous:
tiesto on the other hand..doesnt play much of cheese trance anymore and has moved on to a newer sound in trance music, but he also puts his name on anything he can such as armani exchange t shirts and reebok shoes..i bet in couple years we'll see the same with armin. |

Okay its another tiesto armin bashing thread but i dont think it's that irrelevant since they are indeed two of the most commercial dj's in history...
Personally, I also tend to say Armin. I've never really had the impression tiësto plays tracks that he doesnt fell good about. Armin's style on the other hand seems to have changed too much in the last two years to b "natural". |

I suppose it depends on which stages of their career you're comparing. While he certainly promoted himself extensively, I never got the impression Tiesto 'whored' himself out until after he managed to become "numbah one DJ in the world". Armin, meanwhile, seemed to begin the 'whoring' well before this year, just in an effort to finally snag the opportunity to (im)properly use DJ Mag's poll to promote himself as "numbah one DJ in teh world".
Similarly, I think most would agree Tiesto can't really go much lower than he has in shameless acts (although Oakenfold certainly proved to the contrary). Armin, meanwhile, seems at a point in his career where he could go either way. We'll probably have a better idea once his new album comes out later next year. |

I think its funny that people are actually taking the bait and discussing this.
Carry on. |

I grew bored of all the "best/worst of" threads. No blame. |
