i will be there, but a few poinbters: tiesot has been adeed to the main arena, plus there is a few DJs missing from there (i think) and the GKGG lineup is way better IMO, but im goin to both so it will be quality :)

GKGG is good,so is Awake Festival if you like techno, but NOTHING beats the lineup of GCSSS.And the reason for that is simply the wide variety of styles, and the fact that they've got legendary djs for every last one of them.Check it out:

House - Danny Tenaglia (OMFG!!!!),Masters At Work,Pete Tong

Trance - Paul Oakenfold,Tiesto,Paul Van Dyk

Progressive - Sasha & Diggers B2B (OMFG!!!),Nick Warren,Sander Kleinenberg

Techno - Dave Clarke,Carl Cox,Green Velvet

Hard House - The whole in' Tidy Trax roster + BK & Nick Sentience.Nuff said.

Drum & Bass - Roni Size,Dillinja,Hype,Fabio,Andy C

Add the fact that you have Groove Armada and The Chems live, plus the fact that ALL the arenas are filled to the brim with class A djs IN ADDITION to the ones already mentioned, and you'll easily beat both Awake and GKGG IMHO.But then again,if you're a trance/techno purist,I can see why these two events seem more appealing. But for me,lover of all electronic music there is as I am,there is no doubt in my mind as to which event I would attend.Gatecrasher Summer Sound System above all others.

Unfortunately,I will have just been to London a couple of weeks before June 22nd,so I can't make it.Perhaps Dance Valley will be my event this year.

description
GLOBAL GATHERING 2002
Following the phenomenal success of Global Gathering 2001, and a year of unrivalled anticipation, Godskitchen are proud to present the awesome Global Gathering 2002.
Many who witnessed Global Gathering 2001 deemed it the ultimate triumph of the year. Now with meticulous attention to detail and months of planning we have built on the successes of last year and created a unique clubbers paradise in Global Gathering. With more lights, lasers, production and sound, we believe we have produced the basis for one of the most visually stunning events ever staged. The concept is simply to give you an even more extreme adventure adding DJs, acts, and attractions to make the most definitive dance festival experience ever.

Imagine walking into a lush grass field and being greeted by a breathtaking menagerie of light and sound. A virtual theme park focused around seven huge dance arenas of unparalleled quality. The centrepiece is a 20m spray fountain with a colossal laser projector screening true 3D images onto the fountain below, creating the illusion of the image floating in mid-air. Imagine seeing Einstein's face peering down at you from thin air whilst you walk around the festival.

All around are scattered an array of 25ft high sunflowers standing next to 20ft high multi-coloured windmills, everywhere you look will be hundreds of smaller windmills casting multi-coloured shadows across this spectacular vision helping create that ultimate summer feeling. In each corner of the site are huge 75-watt YAG lasers firing laser light straight into the sky, strong enough to be seen over 40 miles away. Each beam meets 2 miles above your head to create a virtual laser roof over the festival.

But where the real action takes place is inside the music arenas and as the sun goes down the temperature gets hotter at Global Gathering. Enter any of the seven lavish venues and the extravagance continues. Each dome has been fitted with specially designed sound systems, encompassing speakers flown all around the arena walls to ensure a crystal clear thumping beat wherever you are on the dance floor. Surrounded by a blanket of lights being penetrated by massive water-cooled laser systems, the effect is simply stunning. Huge stage sets, trussing and video screens all pulsing in time to the undeniable beat of dance music. Seven arenas representing all styles of dance, partying to one vibe. This is Godskitchen at its finest!
Situated a short walk from the musical mayhem will be a collection of the most extreme theme park rides ever witnessed at a dance festival. Rides of looming authority, daring you to come and throw yourself deeper into the night's excitement. Sample scad drops, roller coasters, big dippers and free fall rides all there to keep pushing you harder.

And if the excitement just gets that little bit too much and you need a break then the Global Gathering chill out village is the place to head. The entire chill out area will be a labyrinth of soft cushions for you to lounge and loose yourself in while you play video games or just sit back and laugh about the day's events. All whilst being waited upon by the legendary Godskitchen belly dancers or the two hundred outlandish characters who will be on hand to make you laugh and smile louder and longer. But if you need something more visual take a stroll through the grounds where you will be greeted by a host of magicians, fire breathers, sword swallowers and acrobats performing astounding feats throughout the night.
This is an event for dance music people everywhere. A hedonists playground where you can lose yourself, make new friends and party harder and longer than ever before. The effort put in to stage this event will take your breath away so come and be a part of something
very special.
