For the past 2 years most of the hip hop releases have been nothing but trash.

Raekwon feat Ice water - spit flames

Joe Budden - 5th gear and the Dj premier track that's already been posted was also another track that stood out.

Most the real lyricists like Pun, Biggie, Big L and Pac are long gone. It's hard to find tracks that have that real hip hop feel.

I disagree. They just aren't on the radio.

Talib, Common, Nas, Black Thought, etc. can lay down some pretty nice verses.

All I have to say is saigon saigon saigon saigon saigon. Pick out any track on any mix tape he did this year and it was amazingg. He is the one that really can bring back hip-hop to what it was.

They aren't gone, they just aren't in the main stream besides nas, common, etc. You have to look to underground for that kind of quality nowadays. Check out papoose, saigon, apathy, jedi mind tricks, immortal technique. They are amazing

Mobb deep has been hit or miss for the past 3 years. They're ablums Hell on earth and the infamous are classics. Their following album Murda Muzik was also a good release. Prodigy's H.N.I.C. solo album was a banger, especially keep it thoro and three feat. Cormega.

I got a couple of saigon & papoose mixtapes, they're aight, nothing really impressive though. Immortal technique is a crazy lyricist and got skills with the wordplay and takes it to the next level like Pun at times, he's also on ghostface's new album, kills that track. I've been on Talib Kweli & Mos def, they definitely got skills and spit that real hip hop. Also look out for the 2 Puerto Ricans artists Temanology and Joell Ortiz.

Wasn't amazing but definitely one of the better albums to come out this year.

My fave song is probably Seven from the Army of the Pharoah's album 'Ritual of Battle' album

Immortal Technique is one dope MC. Check out his verse in Standstill - Killah Priest's latest album 'The Offering'.
