Considering she had twice been elected PM I'm guessing sexism isn't the reason.

....

harsh words. this is most likely a terrorist organization or an extremist religious group responsible. Slight chance Musharraf is behind it too.

It is a sad loss but what on earth did she really think was going to happen after the way she left the country amongst all those corruption allegations. She stole millions! Somebody was bound to be pissed off and in a country like pakistan that means more than a strongly worded letter.

I admire the fact that she had no fear as a leader. I have family in Pakistan that have mixed opinions about her integrity and competency but she definitely stood up to critics, which is very admirable in a country filled with corruption and violence like what you read.

What I don't believe is the fact that she continued pursuing politics despite the fact that 2 members of her family were already killed in the name of politics. (Can't remember if it was her father+brother; one was assassinated and the other executed for crime).

Personally i thought they were gonna take her out that first month she came back...i'm surprised she even lasted a couple of months there...what a loss...she was one brave woman..R.I.P Benazir Bhutto

she did say after that first attack that she believes that some of the members of the government might have helped orchestrate the attack...for example the way all the street lights were turned off right before the attack... so who knows how many groups were involved in this

Her father and 2 of her brothers, actually. Father was sentenced to death on charges of conspiracy to murder. One brother supposedly died of poisoning, the other was shot by police after he accused them of unfairly targeting his organisation.

so sad :(

I used to visit my family there when she was the PM and she always inspired me. She lived very close to my grandparents place at the Bilawal house in clifton (gorgeous home) but went into self-imposed exile several years ago. I have to say this was brutal and I'm devastated. She has two children back in London as well. She escaped the first attempt when she came back to Karachi a month ago. My mother is in Karachi right now visiting my grandma who is ill, and I just got off the phone with her, she said the place is a disaster and her supporters are in a state of confusion and anger. PPP Pakistans people's party has a huge following. Her father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was assasinated too and there was a civil uproar. I am supposed to go there in 1 week or so to see my grandmother.

honestly wtf

:( :( :(
