I recently came across ATBs version of No Fate on his latest album and I thought that many years have gone since the original was released but the track is still covered.
The original Zyon - No Fate was released back in 1992 and had rap lyrics. The version which became famous was the Struggle Continious mix and is the version people today refer to when mentioning No Fate.
Scooter released a cover in 1997. While the radio version was pretty crappy alot of people missed out on their Trance mix which was on the 12" and CD single release. That once again proves that Scooter can produce nice music if they just want to.
At the same time Bonzai released another cover called Limited Growth - No Fate with remixes by Quadran and Santini & Stephenson. Both remixes are nice and pays nice homage to the original. Santini & Stephenson have a nice moody remix while Quadran is more melodic.
The Quadran remix:
Earlier this year DJ Falk & DJ Sakin released their cover which is a horrible remix. Beware of it!
And at the same time ATB with his stripped down version which is nowhere close even to the 1997 versions.

IMO Trance died when Bonzai died.
the ATB remix is really nice

great topic!
never heard the bonzai mixes till now, good info
Johan (DJ Irish)
Great post! One of my absolute favorite tracks from that era
*Edit* Got the Quadran remix from an Reactivate LP around 97, played it to death but never made the connection to the original. How daft am I! :p

I personally think their No Fate is pretty crap because of the vocals. It's funny because Eye Q Record re-released the original Zyon - No Fate after Scooters cover just to show how it's supposed to sound. Scooters Trance mix of No Fate however is probably their best tune together with Rapsody in E. Excellent stuff.

on of my all time fav. the best version is 'No Fate (Back From Goa Mix '92)' imo

Actually, the best known version of No Fate is No Fate Mix/No Fate Mix '93, and that's the version on this first video.
Struggle Continous Mix was made in 1991 and it sounds like typical 1991 trance track (while trance was still heavily under influence of new beat), so it has much lower bpm. It contains some kind of intro speech after which that beautiful melody kicks in (again slower than in first version).
