I didn't realize this start so early. If I would have realized it, my sick ass would have forced myself to at least stop by for like an hour or so to show some support...least I can do after seeing you all planted in the booth at Ten when I walked in before the doors even opened lol.
I had planned on going to this but need to fully recover from being sick and only rest will do that...so no fun for me this weekend! |

I was so tired from the night before (turns out I was really drunk after all and no one really recalls why i wasnt let back into Mighty :nervous: ), going into work the following morning then home to shower and grab some stuff. Some lady on BART asked if I was ok cause I was trying to stay awake and I guess I looked high or something while trying to do so esp when sniffing my nose cause I was a bit cold hahaha Got into the city right before 6 and since Jess was at the club already I hoped she would just go on first so i can stop to get coffee and another snack (been running on snacks all day as well). Club opened about 610 and was still feeling like so got a long island, patron shot and sprite/greygoose before getting on but it was a bit too much on a empty stomach so i was buzzed right from the get go :o It got me really worried cause one time i was trying to mix drunk I ended up having a hard time hearing certain aspects of the tracks i had.
Quickly got my headphones on, opened my cd wallet and started pulling out tracks i wanted to play which turned out to be too many. Never transitioned out of anyones set except that one time w/ lexxx from samim-heater and well that was as i didnt have any tracks that mixed well with that track in the first place at the time. This time around, it was from vinyl to cd and i never touched vinyl :nervous: I must of tried about 3-4 different tracks to transition into but went with dubfire - i feel speed (audion remix)... and not system 7 - space bird (dubfire deep space remix) when people asked me later that night. Told you i was buzzed and good thing I recorded my set :p Damn I hate and love you guys for clapping, if i wasnt nervous enough hahaha Ended up playing my first track longer than I wanted to due to me setting up and still browsing through tracks. I thought the track was ending at one point, I seriously have never played that track for longer than 2-3 minutes haha I didn't make a planned play list as I tried to before and it would be boring trying to play it again, so 3-4 tracks in I would just completely change direction. Again I have ADD for those that know :p Already had a short set time so it really bugged me all night :whip: For about 25 minutes I just played the following:
Dubfire - I Feel Speed (Audion remix)
Synclair - Synclair (Expander remix)
Sasha - Mongoose
Elite Force - You (Perc dub)
I was barely getting into it too. As I gathered my stuff I noticed all these tracks I wanted to play :( Even asked Ryan if he wanted me to play longer and hopes of him saying yes :p I thought short 1 hour sets at massives were bad enough, 25minutes is torture esp when its yourself playing... Great learning experience though and huge thanks to Lexxx, Skwallie and Lyndsay for even asking me to play 
Highlight for me was chilling outside the club and all of sudden a stranger telling me how much he enjoyed my set especially the opening track. Was shocked when I told him it was my first time. Friends will always be positive but having a stranger say that made my night :D
Taj sorry to miss your set but I was way to tired and so was my ride.
I recorded my set. Just let me know if you want it as it has some personal conversations in the recording I rather not share publicly.
edit: a few pics, was really hard to take photos downstairs because my camera would just fog up instantly :(

Awww sorry bro. I didnt know you actually wanted to play longer. I thought you were just trying to save me from my nervousness.
On a side note, I had an awesome time! Very much enjoyed getting on the decks for the first time. Was shocked as hell when people were coming up and telling me they enjoyed my set. :eek: Wasnt expecting that at all, but a pleasant surprise to say the least.
And once again, gotta thanks Lexxx & Skwallie and Lyndsay for the opportunity! You guys are the bestest :tongue2 |
