for a birthday present, i was asked to pick a place in the united states to travel, so i picked vegas... (i was aiming for california, but vegas seems like a lot of fun). i've never been out west, so it's going to be interesting for me.

does anyone have any good suggestions of places to visit? places to stay away from?

we're going next week and we're going to check out the electronics show (i was told it's going to be held during the time we would be in vegas).

Be sure to catch the fountain shows at Bellagio! They're very entertaining and perty. Go to Madame Tussouds obviously. I don't know what else, Hoover Dam is very cool. Aside from that and the strip, it's a pretty regular place as I see it. Be sure to bring a lot of thick clothing as it is absolutely freaking freezing there right now. It's colder there than it is here in Massachusetts. I would stay away from the old original Vegas strip, that place is just sketchy as all hell :p

If you're not into gambling make sure you see some shows because it can get kind of boring if you don't gamble. I think so at least.

i'm personally looking forward more to the clubs, not really the casinos.

the weather will be a bit nicer too, compared to the 16 degrees over here right now.

jupiterone, yes i intend on seeing the water show too!

+1

also, when exactly are you going?

from the 7th to the 12th...

i know to avoid dodgy massage places too, lol. i don't need an "extra" service for an extra 25 dollars.

is boomer's house one of the ones that all look the same? someone was telling me about some neighborhoods in vegas that have houses that all look pretty much identical.
