" Never, never, land " is masterpiece. One of my all time favorites. From the intro, which is :eyes: , music takes it's listeners trough fantastic "trip". Every track from that album is great, IMO.
My favorite track is Reign.
Appreciate :) |

Holy I was just about to create an UNKLE appreciation thread myself !
This is one of my favourite EDM album of all time. Yeah I must say this is the best album out of the three that they have done.
James Lavelle has a thing for sampling alot of his tracks from movies. I really like the whole dark, atmospheric soundscape that this album posses. |

| Was definitely one of my most listened-to albums the year it came out. Haven't given it a listen in awhile though... I should do that now. |

Exactly. That dark, atmospheric feeling is pretty strong, with lots of emotion installed in every track on album. Pretty much every track is 5/5.
I'm researching origins of samples involved at the tracks. Looks like intro is based on Black Sabbath track called "Changes". |

Here's what I found from the Unkle message board:
Eye For An Eye -> "Have you passed thorugh this night, etc...": Thin Red Line
-> "Even now in heaven there are angels carrying savage weapons...": The Prophecy
Inside -> "...Only things that burns in hell": Jacob's Ladder
I Need Something Stronger -> "what's wrong": THX; & "it's just the way you look at it": Jacob's Ladder
I was sort of disappointed that their latest album 'War Stories' left off from the this tangent and went into a more rock sound with guest vocalists. To me it just sounded like another boring rock album... |

| psyence fiction was on a whole different level, but yeah, never never land was good too. |

| Psyence Fiction was more breaks and did't really have that epic sound you hear on Never Never Land. Probably due to the fact that DJ Shadow was part of UNKLE back then |

| I don't like Psyence Fiction as much as I love Never, never, land, but Psyence Fiction is better than War Stories, IMHO. |

I think UNKLE has a different style/appraoch for each artist ablum.
Psyence Fiction being more breaks ands abstract trip hop orientated
Never Never Land was more of a dark atmospheric and epic sound but still maintaing the trip hop sound but with a blend of electronica/dance beats.
War Stories obviosly more slanted towards rock. |
