I would be surprised if most of what was said wasn't true, however I did notice one bit that's wrong...

Umm, does anybody remember when we voted Mikey in how he was placed above the Thrillseekers and he was only at 110? Yeah, about that...

They were placed at 121. And holy ! Gareth Emery is 132! Lange at 145!
Seriously, as much as I hate to sound like I'm kinda-sorta defending DJ Mag, if you're going to post something like that then at the very least, please be accurate.
Edit: Lange and the Thrillseekers aren't in the top 50 for 2007, either. |

Yes. No it's probably fake.
I'm tempted to say "who cares", but the poll is so influential I guess something should be done about it. Third party auditing does sound like a good idea. I mean, the rigged poll could be one of the reasons why Trance seems so stagnant, always giving the votes to the highest bidders/cheaters while decent honest up-coming DJs don't get the recognition they deserve. |
