I cant make up my mind on minimal, some techno (minimal) sets are good and some bore the out of me...
One set that i absolutly love is florian_meindl@becool_BARCELONA_nov2007
Some if it may not be minimal but the minmal parts are amazing.
House / Prog sets that have minimal elements in them.... Im sort of ok with it but id rather not... but I mean I can live with it. |

| I'm loving the minimal elements that many house and progressive producers are including in their tunes. Minimal may, to some, seem very boring and uninspired but IMHO it's quite difficult to create a melody that is very simple yet very catchy. Later on this year when I start in on my own creative processes I plan to experiment with minimalist sounds. |

as for minimal, i have not so far heard a proper minimal set in toronto yet, while we do get to see a lot of djs who do play around with it minimal is nowhere near what is happening in europe where it took over. I don't go to many events so whoever thinks i'm wrong can correct me. Most events (90%) are house in toronto with occasional trance, dnb, techno, psy event. So far i've heard only a few sets with majority of minimal, audiofly, richie hawtin, nathan barato occasionally, manzone and strong occasionally, johnny white, kenny glasgow, lee burridge (sometimes) a few more.. |
I'd agree, we don't get near the europe recieves. WE have minimal elements for sure and I guess what you could even call microhouse and tech house but it seems as though a lot of full on minimal djs stay in europe. |

| I've always thought minimal is sexy, as long as its not too much of a good thing like everyone jumps on the bandwagon and we have no variety. Each Dj brings their own unique sound and style to the table witch makes the scene so diverse and interesting so I hope not everyone follows this trend or were going to be very bored. |

| The Minimal trend is garbage, plain and simple. I like to dance when I go to a club, not sleep!!! |

well i know its ur opinion but pfffffffffft
ask anyone who goes there, what music they go there for and most likely the response will be "hard, dirty, dark music"(mostly tribal/electro) |

agreed. but i still think minimal sounds way sicker in the zone's environment than house. |
