Live PA methinks.

Perhaps he is doing more than I give him credit for. It would be nice to know...

I really can't understand why people think this is a dj set :wtf:

Chicane doesn't dj, never has. Notice how it says "live", it was a live act. Think Greyarea, Underworld, Spooky, etc.

Actually there has been couple of sets that have floated around with him DJing - more like stringing along tracks. I believe there were broadcasts on Galaxy back in 2001-2002.

Anyway for you to convert the rest to mp3??? I understand that's asking alot, but I don't have the software (nor the money to buy a license) to do this.... If not, understandable, no big deal......

So what do you think he was actually doing... other than playing an already produced track and then starting another fully produced track?
I don't have a good enuf knowledge of production to understand how anything he would have been doing would be impressive (if it actually was). It it's just great tracks to credit him as a producer then I guess that's cool.

It should be pretty obvious if you've heard the originals that these aren't "fully produced tracks". I imagine the old Chicane setup was similar to the standard liva PA model from the likes of Orbital, with live sequencing and possibly some live playing. There are definitely live drums in the mix, and he puts it through some effects on several occasions.

It always made me laugh when people from the olden days of TA praised the "mixing" in this set. Goes to show how fanboyish TA was back then: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...d=&pagenumber=1

Great mixing....

Great track selection.......

Agreed that there a couple of breaks where he pauses for effect, but the fact that you don't even notice the mixing for the rest of the set is really a credit to Chicane. To put in a word, i would have to say the mixing is PERFECT in this set.

I apologize for necro'ing. But it's so amazing that this is all still here (and my login still works) after so many years have passed and I got sentimental. This is a living piece of history for me. And of course this amazing set has stood the test of time and can be found on nowadays's platforms like Youtube or Mixcloud. (I'm actually listening to it right now.)
Thank you! Stay safe, stay healthy.

(yes, that is the original)

Absolute classic! This is one of the sets that really got me into trance. I'm pretty sure I stumbled upon it here almost 20 years ago.
