I've been enough of these situations that I typically dump pretty easily, if things seem shady they probably are. If she's not willing to prove that she is trustworthy and faithful, she's not worth the time of day. Get rid of her.

If I were keylogging someone, I'd prefer having it as some obscure application running in the background, rather than having it as something sticking out of an USB port.

The problem is with obscure applications is that virus scanners usually pick them up in a couple of seconds, most USB ports are at the back of the computer and would be a lot easier to plant.
