good luck! lol
and mel. when you make a comment that puts DT and bad in the same sentence people are gonna get a bit defensive.
remember he is the maestro, this whole thing called "house" music he was there from its inception, he helped create it and he is still going strong. He plays it all, the diva is always there cause its the roots of house, in the early 80's when frankie and the likes created house music it was all gays and colored folk.(diva was the in!) So naturally he is gonna keep it real by dropping some of those tunes. At the same time he went through every genre of music (as always) that rem track had 1200+ people stunned, for christ sake he played some remix of greece 2k at like 9 am and we were all in shock. As well as his new edit of green velvet-flash, and a litany of other bombs that no one can id, but he kept the place rammed till past 11, it closed up and after the music shut off people were still jumping around dancing to the beats in their head. Far from bad... :)
Ill even admit that I hate tribal and he always goes into these lil bits of tribal, and i always leave the floor and go get a drink or whatever but before i know it that is done and he drops a melody out of the sky, rinse and repeat!
and the thing in italy, they recorded his set illegally! he has every right to ruin them for that .
sucks you wont be here till the following weekend. The terrace will have to be picked back up after morillo does his damage.
so anyhow this saturday. well danny till 5 then morillo till ???
It is going to be one of those only in miami weekends! :) |

| look. I say why I dislike him and I back it up. I'm not one of these ppl that omg house sucks one11!!
Black chicky vocals = are not my thing. They ARE if I'm at that gay club on Lincoln Road watching the drags walk down an imaginary runway. I just can't see how anyone else can get into that and I am also not one of these people who stay to see if a dj gets better or not. How many times did I walk out of Space 1 hour into Armins set because he was ZzZzz when I was expecting Markus to open. If a dj is good... he is good all night and can keep me focused from the time he goes on till the last record he spins.
The way he carried himself in that situation in Italy is very immature. You know alot of dj's personally, as do I. I'm also sure you've heard of horror stories from them and they NEVER acted the way DT acted. Big big baby. Pretty funny too.
Morillo last year was ON my bday but this week it is the weekend before. I will shed a single tear but I still can't w2ait to see everyone so that makes me :happy2: .
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORK IT BITCHES -snaps fingas- |

So, here's the issue. I've decided to go to Space late(r). But I've already purchased a ticket ($30 before two a.m.). Could I just bring that ticket with me when I get there (past two) and pay the additional charge for getting there later?
I really don't want to 'waste' the original ticket. |

| btw, are there hats allowed in any of these venues? |

| i have to agree with melly on one thing, DT can be a bend over and grab your ankles prima donna bitch. the whole episode with the space closing parties a few years back, and getting all personally offended was so flamboyantly silly and retarded it defies reason.:wtf: |

usually thats how it works you just pay the difference, there is no reason to buy an additionaly ticket.;) |

indeed but the additional charge will be what they are charging at the door and that could be alot more then you were willing to spend. They can do whatever they want the nite of the show. The ticket you bought is honored before 2am so if they decide to charge 60 at the door(or more) after you will have to pay whatever they demand. not to mention it will be slammed by then and id hate to see another space sucks thread on here...get there by 2 and secure ur spot, morillo parties are a beast, the whole nite will be ace and you can see a lil of OG and not have to worry about the whole oh the terrace is closed right now if u get there at 4 or so. it happens. If you go later just dont be pissed that they aren't wisping you right in because you have a ticket. and u can rock ur hat as long as u dont look like a hobo. lol
and yah mel last yr morillo on ur bday was a blast! |

I think DT use to be a great DJ, he is now at a point were he is over-rated. Yes he is the originator of what house is now. And a king at marathon sets.
But
I was @ gyphon and let me say he plays the most filler house EVER!!!
I could do a a 34 day marathon is I could play all the in my winamp. He needs to retire or stick to producer, the people out there still supporting him are his loyal fans. That will listen to him play anything and like it. His sets take decades of hours to progress. So i do not call that a marathon!!!. I have sets of him a while back, and I am surprised what his 8-10hr sets now are like. COMPLETE BOREDOM, but yes once he gets going, he is a machine, so must i wait 6 hrs for him to get at his peak?!?!?!?!
But I do give him credit for what he stays for now "A Legend" not a DJ. And for what he once was. And him hating downtown was a bitch move. THen why is he playing @ pawnshop for WMC, thats downtown!!!! |

nice to hear a differing opinion about the gryphon set as the rest of the reviews ive read have been sugar coated, plur, kiss-ass, go with crowd type reviews, nice to see someone with the stones to say something against the grain;)
i will always LIKE DT, his old gigs at 142 NE 11th were pretty damn slamming, but at times he does hit these jurassic lulls in his sets, which some people will point to as part of his "genius", but i just dont see it like that. the thing is if one can wait it out the guy will go on a tear once he hits those peaks. but when you spin such extended sets as his, i guess one can expect to hit a lull or too, but sometimes its just too monotonous and boring. and i agree that i dont care that he is "building" his set, sometimes one doesnt want to wait till 7am when he finally decides to kick it in gear. that being said, i do admire what the man can do technically on the decks, but i will take Oscar G any day of the week over DT, pick your club oscar will do it better:D |
