nobody really cares about you zild.

But I appreciate the humorous post.

I have a secret, and here it is. I've been wearing a mask that's been cloned by a man's face from Holland, and everytime I put it on, people all of a sudden start calling me Armin. So in 1998, I decided to call myself Armin Van Buuren everytime I wore the mask. Most of you already know this, but for some its been a mystery. I am.....Armin....Van....Buuren. :D NOT!

Ok, here's my two cents on this whole dj thing. I think that the reason Lizandro enjoys my mixes so much is because Lizandro himself inspired me and taught me more than anyone about electronica music and mixing electronica music, aside from Sasha back in 1998. The best set my ears have ever heard was when Lizandro opened up for Paul Van Dyk in 2005. That, my friends, is what gave me a boost into the dance world. Thus, I partake in similar musical styles such as Lizandro's, and is therefore the reason we BOTH enjoy each other's sets and taste in music the most. I could easily say Lizandro is the best dj in the world, but someone who likes Tiesto wouldn't agree with me. Someone who likes Hiekki L. (all within the same musical style and genre region) might just agree with me.

Take for instance, Ben Liebrand and Armin Van Buuren. If you listen to any of Ben's old sets, you'll understand why Armin calls him his hero. Subsequently, their sounds are almost the same and their sets almost match up. Armin wouldn't call James Zabiela his hero, because in no way are their productions the same, let alone live sets. Same thing with Ricky Martin and Robi Draco Rosa (i'm not gay either you dirty feckin carnts). I spoke to Ricky in a dinner event at the Wyndham Hotel in San Juan a few years back, and all he talks about is Robi. Same . If you listen to Robi's stuff, they sound almost like Ricky's stuff.

I think everyone on this forum has a great taste in music. I think all of us dj's/producers have absolute talent. Even Cor Blimey (diggerz) who's likes in Minimal/Techno are nothing like my taste, I still think he has talent and his sets are none other than excellent. Just because I don't listen to Minimal doesn't mean I will hate on his music. Yes, I have talked on this forum about his sets, just like I've talked about everyone elses mom as well, but when it comes down to it, you'll find me jamming out to everyone's sets here because I've burned everyone's mixes on cd's (except for Matthias' 2005 PVD set..I lost that fckn cd).

So, to Lizandro: I appreciate the fact that you like my sets the most bro. Your sets are fckn amazing, and by God I will never stop enjoying your mixes and will do my best to attend every show you spin at (I'm planning on visiting you in Chicago during spring break). But, understand that "tranceaddict.com" is not just about trance addicts. There are a number of people here that think trance is the devil, as other's worship trance and light candles to pictures of Tiesto every night. I wouldn't say that above everyone elses sets here, mine are the best, because as you can see not everyone will agree on that. But I won't condone you or your thoughts about my mixes. I think your mixes ing rock and the way you mix music and your taste in music are by far phenomenal. I will say that you have much more experience than a few peeps here. That doesn't mean that they won't be on the Top 100 Dj List someday. Anthony Hopkins grew up in a poor neighborhood in Wales. His father was an alcoholic and his mother was insane. Hopkins was kicked out of school for fighting and never made it to college, until one day his instincts rbought him from the ground up, and now he has starred in movies like "Hannibal", etc... Never underestimate the underdog, because you never know how far they might get. I do however appreciate that you think my mixes are good. I do enjoy mixing and listening to music. I don't do it on the basis of impressing anyone. I do it on the basis of achieving something that i believe I could share with others on this forum. There are a million other places I could show my mixes, but I choose ta.com since there are people here that share similar taste in music.

What we need is Daydreamer to make polls on our forum so that these arguments are less painful.

Don't trouble yourself with finding it. Some people like my music, some don't, and they recognize it right away. It makes no difference to me if you like my "white boy rock sound". I will say that I take exception to the comment that everyone here plays the same type of music and the way you ripped basically all dj's on here by saying so. Maybe you meant it that way, maybe you didn't. But I haven't heard anyone play a plethora (Si el guapo, you have many plethora) of Armin and Markus tracks, except for Carlos. That says nothing about Carlos though. I finally heard Carlos play live for the first time a couple of weeks ago and must say how impressed I was by how far he's come and how much work he has obviously put into his craft. I am a trance head, I admit, and enjoyed his set....even the Armin tracks. But to discount others on here by saying that everyone plays the same tracks is a discredit to just how diverse the small group of dj's that comprise TXTA really is.

I hold no ill will nor am I offended by such comments. But pay attention to what is really being played by all of us before firing a shot across the bow.

I agree with Jonas. I think you pigeonholed a whole group of very talented and diverse DJs.

*BOWS TO THE ALMIGHTY*

Thank ya brah. I shall give you, Cory, Lizandro, and many others here credit for widening my taste in electronica music in addition to learning how to spin. When I first joined these forums, I didnt even know how to turn on a turntable.

From the first time I saw Lizandro spin, to the time I heard Cory play a massive, sick ass set at your house, to when I heard your set at Dinaire, I think it adds a few more years of me being here on the forums until I retire from TA. :D
