New players for the England Team

With a new manager in place. I think it's time to discuss what should and shouldn't happen to the team. A new manager a fresh start, I think some of the more senior players need to start sweating for their places.

We have some fantastic young players in this country. Their not getting a chance due to the bigger names who constantly fail to play as a team.

For a starters the youngsters at Aston Villa. A lot of talk going on about these guys. Capello would be unwise not giving the likes of Agbonlahor, Young, and even young Cahill a chance.

Also I think Leon Osman deserves a chance his been fantastic for Everton. A good attacking winger, with Cole constantly suffering injuries I think he deserves a place, to rid the England squad of the likes of Downing.

Introducing youngsters is good only IF they have got the same quality. Else there is no need to replace the elderly just for the sake of replacing them. It wouldnt b the first time that a country misses out on a big tournament because of this? Anexample is for instance Belgium who again missed out on the EC. And still they decide to keep the manager... A good example is off course Holland, bu then again, with the talent running around over there, you'ld have to look extremely hard for a manager not capable of qualifying them.

In the England case, who exactly would you like to see being replaced?

But the world cup is so close from now i dont think it would be wise to start experimenting.

My point in a way. But then again, theres a mayor tournament every two years so its never a good time

It's never too late, for an example we all disliked McLaren in the UK however when he dropped Lampard started Barry instead along side Gerrard it was fairly sucessfull.

We didn't qualify for EC, we've got nothing to loose. The excuses the current crop of players used are digusting too including blaming to NFL game on them losing to croatia due to the state of the pitch and who can forget the comments on the fake pitch in Russia.

The English press can be blamed too. They blatently over hype are team but we can do a lot more better then we have been.

We've got some youngsters who I think deserve a chance at least.

My big problem is the team plays with no heart what so ever and they seem to put in half the effort they should be. On paper it's fairly good team but I think the ego and arrogance has got them all. A lot of fans feel they shouldn't be given their place just because of being some premier league superstar.

I'd like to Robinson be dropped perhaps give lads like Green or Harte a chance.

The defence on it's day Terry and Ferdinand can be great, however yet again in recent months nothing but half efforts. Also Terry's attitude in a Chelsea shirt is disgraceful for someone wearing the Captains armband.

Midfield the so called super four. Stevie G put's in half the effort, Lampard don't get me started, Beckham let the team play round me and sicknote Joe to top it all off. Add to that the likes of Jenas and Downing. This is the area I think Capello really needs to work on.

Upfront we can never get decent partnerships even though I will say Owen and Heskey were looking fairly good before Heskey got injured.
Owen's good on his day but constantly suffers from injuries and at times struggles. Rooney good player a bit overated and plays too deep at times. Defoe and Smith are they anything special? I don't think so. I'm not a Crouch fan and don't really want to start a pro/anti debate about him.

I don't think he can play any other formation well except 4-3-3, which they seem to use a lot at Chelsea. You need a really solid defensive midfielder backing him up if he plays.

lampard is in general. his form hasn't been good for chelska of late either.

i say owen needs to go. i'm tired of his getting injured every 2 months. capello's a good manager at figuring out who to play - he won't take any and sit some people down (ego or not). england will do well from now on and i agree they need new blood - between now and through the EC they need to experiment and get the right formula together.

Lol, a player has to leave the national team because he's injured too often...

I think bottom line England, altho potentially a very good team, is overrated..especially in England.
You're VERY luck to have scored Capello coz he def will get them playing the right way: as a team and with heart
