Welcome to 1995 mate. |

| Only psy & goa since mid '05. I've honestly tried to sit through the '07 top 20 asot mix only to give up half way through. I can't stand that fluffy tracking treasure down gay trance and the ing boring prog house tracks that are played on Markus Schulz radio show. The only dj on radio that interests me is John Fleming. I'll listen to a few classic PVD and tiesto sets from the late 90s and early 2000, but that's where I draw the line with trance. |

Drum'n'bass has already had it's peak in the second half of 90's.

same with techno, actually i think techno's already on the downhill road to fail with the new minimal that's going to collide with electro to make electech, which will be balls awful. |
I really don't see that happening. Electro and minimal have nothing to do with each other.
"Electro" house and minimal techno are like ground and sky. |

I almost never listen to any EDM anymore. Maybe like once a month.
I think I might have overconsumed it. I listened to so much techno/tech house at some point that I've overdosed and now I can't stand listening to anything with any kind of beat. :wtf: |

I've been listening to EDM for 7-8 years and in the last 3-4 years at least 2-6 hours a day.

I find myself listening to and calling other genres of music trance, even when I know for a fact they aint trance, for example stuff like Nick Warren's GU CD's. John Digweed Transitions.
Pure trance as I remember it fondly is hard to come by. Thins such as thrillseekers old sound, etc.
I just associate any and all melodic dance music as trance. I know it's wrong, but I just do. |

normally this would be a stupid question to ask on a trance forum. but since this is tranceaddict, aka "i hate on trance b/c its the cool thing to do now a days" forum, its actually a good question, im sure alot of ppl on here dont listen to trance yet have extremly boring lives and post on here all day and do nothing but talk to make themselves feel better....
as for the question...yes i still listen to trance....all the time, old and new. |

Yes.
What has changed is that I no longer like the "hands in the air" kind of stuff -- more a fan of "hypnotic" dance music now (which can be found in techno [especially acid], house, and other genres in addition to trance). Plus my tastes for electronic music are now a lot broader than just trance + prog house. Trance, dubstep, ambient, chillout, IDM, breaks, techno, house, etc. etc.
There's so much good music out there, and I think that you can find a bit to like in almost every genre, as long as you go in with an open mind and do a bit of searching beyond whatever's on top of the latest chart. |

with the exception of early 90s trance, i think most electronic music* is actually far more hypnotic than trance
*except for full on drum and bass, big room house, etc |
