Well it won't be as intense as the new AC album. He's more folk and acoustic but I do love his Black Babies and Cripple Crow album.

Songs such as:

The Charles C. Leary (must listen)
Cosmos and Demos (must listen)
The Beatles
Cripple Crow
edit: Inaniel (somewhat Sigur Ros meets Radiohead)

Have you heard of Iron and Wine? Also rather indie and folk but more modern. The new I&W album is great too. All rather subjective but give Devendra a listen, you might like it.

Love these guys! Some of the most original, inventive, and catchy/endearing music I've ever heard. Like jupiterone said, Devendra Banhart is another great one. A bunch of artists on the fat cat label (www.fatcat.co.uk) explore some of the same styles/sounds.

So ibz, you've seen them live? I'd love to see one of their shows.

Glad to see some other AC fans on here...I try introducing my friends to them and they think I'm nuts. :toothless

Yeah, I saw them at this venue right by a dock in the city. It was one of the most intense live musical experiences. The thing about their live shows is that they use the crowd to experiment new songs and see how they react to them. Like when I saw them they played stuff that won't be released for another year or so :o
