Adam, we're calling your name, can you hear us call? calling your name, calling, your NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEE

Sam: My friend Eric is trying to decide whether to get Serato, or Torq, or Ableton to mix with (he already has 2x CDJ 200s and a Numark DXM06). Maybe he could join you at the next ATL Ableton group meeting?

Just tell him to come tonight.

Or if he can't come, sure that'll work.

*Meeting cancelled* according to Mike Z

The TAs could meet somewhere else to hang out, but unfortunately Relapse theatre won't be that place until February :(

Sam: Would it be OK if I gave Eric your number? Or maybe I should prod him to make some more posts here and shoot a PM your way(I think his handle is dj_eric).

Just my two cents (not that you asked for it): I think you should be damn good at DJing using traditional methods before making the jump to Ableton. If you have gotten absolutely everything you can out of traditional mediums (and I'll even include Serato as a traditional medium -- as long as you don't beat match visually) and are ready to make the jump to the next level by doing real-time re-edits/remixes or to have more time to see if the keys of tracks compliment each other, then Ableton can be a powerful tool. But, you want to use Ableton to just mix two tracks together, that gets pretty boring and does not develop any skills.

We now return to your regularly scheduled programming...

I agree...but right now I think he wants to create mixes as a hobby more than to get gigs/respect. Personally I would feel unfulfilled (and bored) if I let a program do the mixing for me, even though it will sound better than my n00b transitions on CDJs.

BTW...I haven't seen you or Javier in a while. Maybe we should get another TA practice day together?

Sam: That's what I thought too. I just got a text from him a few hours ago saying the meeting was off :whip:

Totally.

BTW - You should have come to Luckie Lounge for NYE...it was only $200/person. Pocket change, right? ;)
