hahahaha I guess that's true. It should be all about the music.
Musically though, I don't think any of them are as good as say LCD Soundsystem or Junior Boys. Those groups seem to be doing a lot more than just cool 80s sounds over a farty bassline. |

Sure.
Why would he carry around 1000+ records when he can carry around 1000+ mp3's on a laptop? Not to mention the mass amount of promo's that he most likely receives on a daily basis, allowing him to play these tracks before they get released on a record.
He may have people set the equipment up for him at the gigs but what does that have to do with what he is doing beforehand? He is still going through the tracks before the gigs and preparing the music. What do you think is easier, listen to your tracks in a hotel room on a record or at your laptop? |

Thats not the point of what I was saying, and when i said "carry your records like everyone else" I did also mean CDs...just like everyone else. The point is, if you're going to mix off a computer system like ABLETON LIVE. Then USE IT. Otherwise, Serato, Torq etc all do the same thing, without the glamor and hype of having some fancy custom made controller and iMac in the booth, if "practicality" is the main issue, which as I pointed out, is not, for Sasha.
He's not using ableton because he's tired of burning CDs or having them get lost by the airline. (he brings CDs to gigs anyway in case the mac dies) He's using it because supposedly it adds a special element to his sets, when right now, apart from some minor side-chaining, audio-routing and looping, it doesn't. He's back to relatively quick, simple mixing and playing tracks one after the other...and frankly, thats a waste of Ableton. |

| One thing you can't fault Sasha for though, is that he has always done things exactly how HE wants regardless of what anyone else thinks. This will always lead to friction with those watching him closely, but it is probably one of his best traits. |

Way to miss the point completely. I'm not sure anyone else could have done so quite as thoroughly as you have 
Also, I'll pay you a million dollars if you can prove Sasha does all the pre-show work himself - you really think he digs for all his own records yet?

Point wasn't missed at all. Just because he isn't using the program to it's full potential doesn't mean he shouldn't be using it at all. He's probably getting out of it everything that he wants to. I really don't think he is using Ableton for Clovis' satisfaction, or yours for that matter.
Do I really think he digs for all of his own records? No, of course not. Do I think he digs for music on his own though? Of course I do. How about I'll pay you a million dollars for proving me wrong since your little claims seems a bit more ridiculous then mine. Of course people are helping set up "the show" but when it comes down to choosing the tracks to be played that night, I think it's more realistic to believe it's coming from his personal taste and not someone else's. |

| One more thing, I think the funniest thing about all of this is how some of you can completely over analyze something like this. And on top of that, try to argue some of the points that you try and come up with. Something tells me that even if Sasha himself came here and explained all of this to you, we'd still have a flame war over it because of how ignorant you really are. :stongue: |
